Some mistake surely!

Shouldn't they ban TV's gigs before Alice's?

Ok, old Alice's show is a bit of "horror" and all that, but I heard he's "the son of a preacher man" and goes to church himself... So why ban him?  :P  ::)

God knows!

I understand that Alice is a born-again Christian addicted to golf. I'd ban him for the golf!

I saw the 'Theatre of Death' tour last night in Newcastle. Good fun, maybe a bit over the top-Alice gets killed 4 times as does his nurse.I liked the rodie being impaled though! For sale at all gigs is a memory stick with a mp3 recording of that night's gig-available after the show. Costs 20. I gave it a miss. He started really well but some of the song selection later could have been better. And where does he get these bloody awful drummers from? The current one is just as bad as the clown from Kiss. Support band Manraze were fucking awful. They did have a better drummer though.

Many thanks for spoiling my fun - I see the tour on Friday...

I thought that Man Raze were not too bad - the guitar "heroics" were kept to a minimum. The first half of the set was better than the second as they had several songs that sounded like Thin Lizzy in the verses and sing-a-long, Faces/Quireboys type choruses and I can handle that. Interesting choice of cover versions - I never thought I'd see a Sex Pistol playing Jimi Hendrix any more than I thougth I'd see Def Leppard's guitarist playing Iggy and The Stooges! They obviously have a bit of a fan base already as several audience members were singing along to the songs.

Alice was great - best I've seen him. Only shame was that instead of getting "Elected" as the encore we got School's Out" again as Phil from Def Raze wanted to play with them! Killed four times - what more dyawant!

"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."

Spookily, the great Leslie Nielsen has died:

I loved Police Squad and the films that followed and was lucky enough to catch his one-man show on the life of Clarence Darrow - what a really great serious actor he was too. And don't forget "Forbidden Planet" for all you sci-fi fans out there. I'll miss him.

They're not - my friend got tickets for me, himself and his family for Sheffield - which is without The Dolls sadly.

I HOPE they are better when you see them than the last time they played Rebellion!!!

Hang on a minute - do you think YOU could do any better?

Oh, actually, of course you can.

Sorry Teev! What was I thinking?!

In fact, even I could do better than that, so let's hope they have some proper rehearsals this time.

Alice Cooper on "The First Time"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0167vd9

The image of Alice Cooper as a cartoonish Halloween schlock rocker is one that the 63 year old Vincent Damon Furnier has worked had to establish, but his real musical and cultural impact is often ignored.

His band emerged from the Detroit garage rock scene of the mid 60s alongside The MC5 and Iggy & The Stooges and can lay claim to helping inspire punk as much as either of those revered acts (it's no coincidence his track Eighteen was sung by Jonny Rotten at his audition for Sex Pistols). But he was also the first musician to approach rock concerts as theatre - introducing theatrical imagery and stagecraft way before Bowie picked up the pan stick.

Here Matt Everitt speaks to Alice about his early years, how he developed his showmanship, and the massive international success that followed albums like Welcome To My Nightmare and School's Out - albums that turned him into a household name. With typical grace and humour Alice also discusses his battles with alcoholism, his creative rebirth with his legendary cameo in Wayne's World, and his life as a born again Christian - an interesting contradiction considering the battles he's endured with "moral" crusaders the world over and the depraved characters that he portrays.

And, of course, we talk about his overiding addiction...golf (he plays six days a week off a handicap of two).

Great gig in Manchester last night-andThe Dolls were excellent too. Big crowd in early to see them. They did an hour, some really good new ones too. Only complaint was they wasted 1 song by doing the appalling 'dance like a monkey'. Different band to Blackpool Ken Adams (bass) Jason Southern (drums) and Earl Slick(lead)-didn't he play on David Live? They went down really well and I was pleased to see Sylvain at the side of the sage filming a few of Alice's songs.
Alice was on top form too,as good as I've seen him and a couple of surprises (Clones and Halo of Flies). The 15 foot tall Frankenstein monser did look like something from It's a Knockout though. I could almost hear Stuart Hall pissing himself laughing as it stumbled around the stage.
