Title: The Adverts to reform and tour!
Post by: Fred21 on April 01, 2015, 12:05:16 AM
Yes folks, it’s finally on!

I was never lucky enough to catch them live first time around, so I can’t wait for this. Good things come to “We Who Wait” indeed!

From the Press Release:

Legendary punk rock band The Adverts are set for a much anticipated return.

The three surviving original members TV Smith, Gaye Advert and Laurie Driver are due to begin rehearsals shortly with an as yet unnamed guitarist prior to a headlining UK tour this autumn. It is expected that the set will focus mainly upon their classic “Crossing the Red Sea with The Adverts” album as this was recorded prior to Driver’s split with the band. Ari Pollof of Anagram Records says that a deal for a live album and DVD has been agreed and signed today. “We’re very proud to be associated with The Adverts. TV Smith has worked tirelessly to keep his songs from The Adverts stage of his career in the public eye through his solo performances and the recent “We Who Wait” documentary has led to substantially increased interest in the band.”

And the first new album since 1979 will be called 'April Skies'.

I don't want to split hairs but didn't you miss the noon deadline?

For me, I'd sooner see a Great Explorers reunion as a tribute to the late Great Stoner.

It went up right after midnight. No one commented on Ari Pollof's press release until after noon.

Your turn next year TJ?

I should have just said that there would be a Tory majority in the election - who would have believed that on 1st April?!
