Title: Record Store Day - 16 April 2016
Post by: Rob-C on April 15, 2016, 10:57:59 AM
At least two interesting items here:

Quite fancy getting Cast of Thousands in white vinyl - my original RCA copy is long lost to the ravages of time.  Also, is this the first time it's been possible to buy '...Red Sea...' in red vinyl since 1978?  I still have my original (I'll bore you all one day with the story about how I bought the original, despite misinformation put out by Radio Luxembourg).

According to my local store.  Gateway Sounds, Whitstable.  There has been a problem with the distribution of several of the records..   and...  yes.... Cast of Thousands is one.   She is still hopeful of getting a copy, but it wont be in time for tomorrow..

I got Cast of Thousands in Sister Ray for 19.99 (Red Sea had quickly sold out).  It looks and feels magnificent. Had to wait in a long queue to get in the shop first - a bit mad.  Vinyl seems to have a bit more life in it yet.

And it begins.

4 copies of 'Cast Of Thousands' on white vinyl already up for sale on Discogs for 28 and upwards.

And several on eBay for even more.

Well, I suppose that's Capitalism for you...

Copies of White Vinyl "Cast" and Red Sea are available from the man himself.  Only a few copies though (6 of each on Sunday night).
