I wonder if they'll be replaced.
They were the only 'local' band on.

Also kinda "confirmed" is Stuttgart Thursday February 16th:
http://www.motorcityrock.de/events/detail/5269/uk-subs-gb-tv-smith-gb-guests.html

Don't know who wrote the text (or where it was copied from), but this here is nice & a bit funny too:
Quote
Einen weiteren Teil der von 1979–1983 entstandenen Songs brachte T. V. Smith, hauptsächlich auf Drängen seines Fanclubs den TUTS (T. V. Smith United Tour Supporters), unter dem Titel Spargle in the Mud im Mai 2010 als Album heraus.

For those of you not fluent in Punk-German:

"Another part of the incurred from 1979-1983 songs brought TV Smith , mainly at the insistence of his fan club to TUTS ( TV Smith United Supporters Tour ) , under the title Spargle in the Mud in May 2010 as an album"

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm always encouraging Tim to spargle in the mud. This is a voice exercise, best conducted at a health spa under medical supervision, involving gargling mud.

This clearly explains the occasional "muddy" PA sound at gigs despite there only being only one voice and one guitar.

Post by: Uli on August 30, 2016, 12:04:08 PM
I thought it was nice to see the TUTS mentioned there. Note that part 2 of the demos "Lucky us" was not mentioned in the text (just in the discography below). I think it is from Wikipedia (possibly written by "our own" Ilove)!

"Spargel" in German = asparagus  ;D

Altogether now:

"I see asparagus in the mud,
Like a little salad in the dirt,
Ready for the cut,
Ready for the fork..."

Oh, I didn't know the setlist as exactly as you do.  ;)
But I would like to hear them perform "Only One Flavour" etc.!

The "surprise" to me was a) a BT tour in May (hadn't even heard rumours until then) and b) the fact that this time they're not advertised as playing Adverts stuff (which was the case in 2007 etc.)! Of course "Useless" contains some Adverts songs too.  8)

Okey Dokey, the first review of the year..

Firstly "Ta Dah"  My 50th TV Gig AND my first ever visit to the 100 Club and what a venue..  anyhow....

The gig was part of Resolution 2017 an 11 festival of "Punk Rock"

Despite the Tube strike there was no problems getting to Oxford Street and nice to see that the 100 Club had a "coat store" as us oldies do need to wear a coat these days.....

First up were The Setbacks, who had already started by the time we had arrived, only caught 3 of their songs, but were good from what I heard.  Next were The Screaming Dead..  now catch these if you can, very full on and entertaining.

The main event came on stage at 9.45pm and promised "non-stop action" and we did from start to 50 minute finish, as Slaughterbi reported they were "on fire", tight, loud and enjoyed themselves..

Set list..   21, Safety, Wait, Newboys, Place, TV Over, Delete, String, Roof, Wheels, Expensive, Imm Rich, Dead, Bombsite, GBM, GGE, BT, OCW then Good Times & Lords Prayer as encore.

As reported Steve the Fish & Slaughterboy in attendance, along with Mrs Fish & Mrs Slaughter..  Lee Hegarty was at the bar, along with Jet (Uk subs) and I thought it was Olga (nice to see that confirmed)  also members of Morgellons.

Oh, and a nice ale "Jet Black Stout"...

All in all a great night, rounded off by a brisk(ish) walk back to West Hampstead as we couldn't be bothered to wait for a bus..

So to 51..   mmmm, so many to choose from!!!

TV & UK Subs (again) in Stuttgart (again):
After I'd missed the last few tours 2015/16 (snow etc.), this time I was determined to make it!

Seeing the situation for parking the car in Stuttgart is not too easy these days, I decide to go for a different way: I steer the car into a "park&ride" thing in Degerloch (part of town, which is above the "basin" Stuttgart itself is located in) and hop on the "UBahn" into town (it is very comfortable that the club "Universum" is right next to the station "Charlottenplatz"). Although I think I'm early, there are already a lot of people inside the club! I look around, after a while I meet Helmut (guitarist from The Lennons and The Skeletons out of Pforzheim, both of which had been support to TV & UK Subs in recent years). Later I find Ilona, Wolfgang and TV at the merch desk!  8)

Club is pretty full by the time TV goes on stage. I do not take notes during the show, here is a rough setlist (possibly not in correct order, but better than nothing): Only One Flavour, No Time To Be 21, No Control, Keys to the world, My String Will Snap, I Delete, Expensive Being Poor, Immortal Rich, Lion & the lamb, Land of the overdose, Pushed Again, Gen Y, GGE, Bored Teenagers, One Chord Wonders. Encore: Runaway Train Driver.

Three new songs, the audience welcome these (almost) as much as the old classics. What surprises me, at the start of GGE there is quite a "buzz" in the air, which I hadn't expected (me being "hard-boiled" after 50+ TV gigs) and gives me the goose bumps! A big cheer goes up after OCW, which results in one encore.
I can see quite a few faces I think I'd seen before at TV gigs, some singing along etc. Stuttgart is slowly becoming TV town!  8)

UK Subs are quite loud (as usual). New guitarist sounds like he does his job well. I listen to most of the set from way behind near the merch desk, where I also chat with TV later. We talk about his "problem": when he has a new album out, he's already written new songs and then plays them instead of the album songs...  ;)
Apparently people still like to buy "I Delete", while "CITL" or "ITAOME" aren't the big sellers (look at the setlists and you can guess why...).

After UK Subs are done, I say good-bye and head over to the UBahn, while I'm waiting for my train I scribble down a setlist as best as I can remember. I'm quite surprised it's only 11.35pm! Which means I'm home before 1am, not bad.  :)

Many thanks for the travel report Uli! Honestly, are you after Jeremy Clarkson's job?

Only serious!

Thanks for the review and an insight into Tim's 'problem'...

The only solution I can think of is that everyone should buy all of his albums!

Spannend, aber warum nicht, TV Smith vor 85.000 Heavy-Metal-Fans! Die sollen auch mal etwas "Anständiges" zu hören bekommen. ;)

Ja, TV sucht die Herausforderung...

TV's looking for challenge playing to metal fans at Wacken (well he told me he doesn't really wanna celebrate "40 years of punk").

Oberhausen was weird, many People leaved after TV. I never saw this. Normaly its the other Way. People come during the TV Gig.

Appeldorn was surprisly full, when i arrived (and i was pretty late) there were just like 10 people. When TV Starts it was around 60, when UK Subs starts it was 120-130 around. Its good for the Netherlands. The Club was way smaller then the Oberhausen one

(sorry, delay of setlists, and today its an early gig)

Got to Stamford last night and parked up in a mobbed car park right next to the venue. When I turned the engine off I could hear a throbbing bass line and saw lots of people heading towards the venue...

...which was very close to the funfair that was the source of the music and where many of the crowd were heading.

"Oh well! Let's hope some of the good people of Stamford are coming to the gig" I thought.

Of course they were. I got downstairs to find an already healthy crowd listening to a horrible noise from a band led by a guy in a wrestling mask. I see Alan and, much as I dislike smoking, ask him if he wants to go up for a smoke rather than listen to the horrible noise - he did.

We have a nice chat/moan/rant on various topics and see Class arrive. He joins us shortly before TJ, Smit and his mate Chris also arrive. A quick catch up all round is followed by us moving inside for the main event.

TV is welcomed by a sizeable and very enthusiastic crowd and plays a storming set. He rapidly gets into a pattern of old song/new song until the newest ones are exhausted and a 'classic collection' follows. As its his first visit to Stamford, the crowd are treated to the poem prior to the usual set closers and he's quickly invited back for a three song nuclear-themed encore.

His merch table looks very busy, so I go for some air before returning for my copy of the lyric book and record set. With that, it's pretty much time for farewells as Cardiff is calling for several of the party...

Over to Alan for that one.

Cracking stuff - 10/10.

Good review Fred, that's pretty much how I saw/heard it. I've got to say what a great venue it was. I think TV said it was his first time in Stamford, let's hope it's his first of many because it was a very good audience who were clearly knowledgable about the music from TV.
Nice to catch up with old friends, even if I had to introduce myself to TJ who didn't recognise me (he's only known me for about 15 years!)
Just sorry I arrived too late to see the man in the wrestling mask.

Good things about The Boar's Head in Kidderminster:

Easy to find, plentiful parking in the area, Sid the very welcoming and helpful landlord (and his staff), the sizeable, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable of Tim's back catalogue given the amount of singing along, crowd.

Bad thing about The Boar's Head:

No separation between the back (venue) and the front (bar open to the public) meant that there is a lot of noise leaking in.

Worst thing about The Boar's Head:

It's closing soon - I forgot to ask why, but it'll be a shame to lose yet another venue.

Myself and Mr Grundy again represented the TUTS last night. In a pre-gig conversation, Alan and I  got round to discussing how Easter was the perfect time for Wilko to be gigging given that he recently also came back from the dead. Which lead to an obvious request...

Which was duly picked up by Mr Smith. Indeed, the early part of the set was formed largely by requests (including a live rarity, "The Servant") Tim had received earlier in the evening. He duly fulfilled his audience's wishes and moved on to deliver another cracking set of great old and new songs. Indeed, one was so new we forgot to ask what it was called - "Green Zone" possibly?

The gig finished much as it began with Tim returning to the stage to immediate requests for "Clone Town" and "Useless" which were played alongside "Perhaps the Good Times are back" to bring proceedings to a close.

Another great gig in a good, IF RATHER NOISY, setting with a very appreciative crowd and good company - well worth the drive in horrendous conditions to get there.

I'd had the impression that the Munich gig (May 7th) of TV & the BT would be with support by Louise Distras (and "Los Pepes"), don't know where I'd read that, but now it seems to be wrong...  (it's just Los Pepes). Return to Maidstone's Flowerpot for the first time since September 2015.

Arrived unfortunately early and caught the support. Folk smolk: sooooo not Mr & Mrs Slaughterboy. We repaired to the bar, only too pleased to drown our sorrows. TV was deep in conversation with a bloke I recognised from the previous Flowerpot gig and Phil likewise occupied with Mrs EKT. My Guinness was good as advertised and Helen did her usual trip through the bar list: cider, wine, Guinness...not in the same glass, mind. She no crazy!  :o

Anyway...TV did a very good impersonation of TV, in that he played the usual mixture of old and new, to a very knowledgeable and appreciative audience, bigger and better than his last visit. Phil had his notebook to hand so I'll leave the set list to him to post. Later. From his luxurious hotel suite  ;)

We'll be back for more Maidstone Teev tomorrow  :)

Ok then, time to dust of the pencil..

Mrs Taff & I did arrive well on time for the support to the support.  Richie (Brake) had supported T.V. before and did a very good 45 mins set, all of self-penned material and just a guitar.

The 2nd support were The Dredgermen, a 3 piece (should of been 4), playing as Shayne says a smooschie mix of covers from a variety of sounds including "5 drunken nights" and "Molly Malone"..  at least it got the crowd involved..

T.V's set commenced at 2150hrs and, with Mrs Taff & Helen happily sitting at a nearby table, with alcohol in hand....Shayne & I parked ourselves in the "mulch-pit"..  Flowerpot!! get-it??..  ok then, I will return to the job in hand..

A good crowd of about 50 or so were crammed in the small bar.. and about another 30 or so, in the "upper-bar" watching on a TV screen (actually quite apt that..  T.V. screen!!  ok then... not!

21 songs of the usual quality that we love and we got..  Flavour, Keys, No Hope Street, 21, Wait, Reply, Delete, Lion, Big Fish, Expensive (with inflated lyric - Cinema ten quid), Rich, Tom Cruise, Overdose, String, What if, Gen Y, GBM, GGE, BT, OCW and RTD as encore.

After a day looking around a very nice National Trust property (Ightham Moat)..  No, No, I will not right a precise on it..  oh. if you insist..  Built in 1521 (shit, my pen ran out)......

Back into Maidstone to find at the 2nd attempt The Royal Albion.. (note to self..  look it up on the map before going to a gig!!) we had actually walked past it twice..  Anyhow.. The pub was very full when we arrived at 5pm and Best Intentions were already playing. The "stage" was on a landing between two seating areas, accessed by 4 stairs, which was also the way to the toilets..  their set was good and the sound was excellent, obviously well worked for the small space available.

T.V. was due on at 6pm and after "plugging in" a couple of tweeks and twngs he was away at 5.50pm, which caught a couple of people out.. no names as promised Shayne!!!

My vantage point was "on the stairs", and as I said before it was on the way to the toilets.. well the crowd must have been the most incontinent bunch I have ever seen to & fro, but I can report that no criticism can be laid on the bladders of the "punks" in attendance..

Flavour, 21, No control, CITL, Replay, Delete, Lion, Wheels, Complaints, Expensive (back to six quid), Rich, GBM, Pushed Again, Fish, Sunny Side Up, String, Gen Y, Poem, GGE, BT, OCW and Good Times as encore.

And so another excellent weekend and today writing this up with Suzy & Los Quatros playing and Mrs Taff saying "yup I could watch them!!)..  mmmm, now where is my RENFE timetable (Spanish railways to most of you)

Until the next time readers..  don't know where, don't know when, but I know weel meet again..........

Very short version: went to Karlsruhe to watch tv with bored teenagers playing useless album.  ;)  ;D

Short version: great fun this day, with some stops doing sightseeing, then met many nice TUTS and enjoyed a great gig by TV and BT!  8)

Long version: start the drive in the afternoon, usual traffic jam(s) around Stuttgart, leave the Autobahn and drive to Maulbronn (old mediaeval monastery, a world heritage site), very nice there, then back towards Pforzheim and into the "Black Forest" region, where I find the ruins of a cloister (not as old as Maulbronn though). Incredible what you can see when you take half a day off!! Still some time left when I arrive near the "Alte Hackerei", so I walk a bit into town and grab something to eat (Falafel with veg). When I walk into the venue, I see Uwe (who does the TV gigs in Horb-Muehringen) + mate. Then near the merch desk I find Ilona + Wolfgang, but who's that with them? It's Klaus, our dear Admin & webmaster!!  :o He's kept it a secret, to surprise us, nice one! Later Tim comes as well, so we have some kind of a TUTS meeting here.  8)
We chat the time away waiting for the band to start (Tim disappeared backstage in the meantime), finally around 10.30 they're ready to enter the stage. They start with "One Chord Wonders" & "Only One Flavour", in fact what follows is the whole of the "Useless" album, all of it performed surprisingly close to the album versions (keep in mind DTH have 2 guitarists plus TV on acoustic, while the BT only have one)! Great band these "Bored Teenagers"! In fact they "forget" to perform the title track of the album, which is the first song of the encore(s)! Then these songs follow: No Time To Be 21, Tomahawk Cruise, Replay, I Delete, Good Times Are Back, My Place, Television's Over, Great British Mistake, Back from the dead, Bombsite Boy.
The small club is very full, the lively audience asks them back for 3 encores in all. Great gig, full of energy, very loud (good thing I got earplugs on me), with a few surprises in the setlist! (Tomahawk Cruise & My Place most surprising for me. And they sound crisply good!)
Afterwards I chat with the TUTS again plus the merch guy (who's been employed by the band to do this and the driving - tells me he's been "on the road" before with TV & UK Subs), later Jonathan joins us too! :) I use the opportunity to buy the new Suzy & los Quattro cd and a TV & BT t-shirt.
Before it gets way too late, I decide to drive home, where I arrive about 2am after a loong day/night...  :)

One night of punkrock lifestyle... three (or more) days of suffering. That's not fair.  :(
(At least I don't have much work right now.)

York- Fulford Arms. After seeing the Doctors of Madness the previous night it was 2 brilliant gigs in 2 days for me and my 2nd meeting with TJ in 2 days. Good to catch up with TV and Alan G too. Great long set in a very hot room and the new album should be a cracker if the new songs are anything to go by- Land of the Overdose, Standing Alone, No Hope Street, No Control. There was another one too but can't remember the title at the moment.

Good to catch up with you too GJ and nice to see TJ ("Anyone remember TJ?").
A lower turnout than last time at the Fulford but the sun was out (TV started the set with "It's Warming up") and it was a bank holiday weekend.
The other new song played was "Keys To The World" and there were rare outings for"Back From The Dead" and "First One To Sign Up" (TV said that he hadn't played it for over a year).
Must agree with GJ about the strength of the new songs. Much as I loved the last album, the forthcoming one promises to be even better!

As I walked away from TJ I said 'get back on the forum'. He said 'I can't get on it'! I didn't have time to ask why because I had to get back to my local pub for last orders.

Well if that was the problem he could've asked Klaus (our Admin, who's on Facebook too, where Tj does post about the gigs).
But thank you for pointing Tj towards the fact that we're still around here!  8)

I’ve posted a picture of TV Smith here as I had the good fortune to play with Tim and Thomas Schneider (the photo on the right was a classic ' Quo ' moment )the day before and going into , my birthday . Thomas was amazing as always and we drove up in the car with Laura and Thea on the day to play the Wacken metal festival . I’ll try to keep this short but we had a great time despite the cold , rain and mud and the er ... metal  :-) . Tim on the other hand made the Herculean task of playing 3 Rebellion shows then getting up at 5 in the morning , catching the train to London , then another to Heathrow , a flight to Hamburg ( delayed ) and then hopping the shuttle to Wacken . We thought he wouldn’t make it , but there he was , 10 mins before showtime with a smiling ‘ whatchya Vom ‘ . This man can move mountains , and he does . It was indeed an honor to play this show with Tim and Thomas and it made my birthday weekend . Tim then had to set off after breakfast with the lovely Sally to get all the way back to Devon .

Treatment from British Airways reached a new low yesterday. After three great gigs in Germany I flew back from Stuttgart airport and encountered a BA employee called Mr Caruso who took an instant dislike to me and decided to try and stop me taking my guitar on board. My partner and I had no other hand luggage, the guitar fits easily into the overhead lockers and takes up less space than two carry-on bags. When I explained this and insisted I wanted to take it with me to the plane and let the on-board crew decide, Mr Caruso called the police in, and said he wasn't going to let me fly. When I - politely - asked him to justify this, he then told me he could smell alcohol on my breath. The only thing that had passed my lips all day was water and two cups of coffee. The end result was that the rest of the plane boarded past me and my partner flanked by two burly armed policemen. For no other reason than the fact I wanted to take my guitar with me on the plane I was publicly humiliated, intimidated, accused of being a drunk, and treated as a criminal in front of all the other passengers. Eventually I was led down to the plane by a member of the ground crew, and the on-board BA staff were absolutely lovely and only too happy to find a place to tuck away the guitar - as usual. But any musicians travelling through Stuttgart airport on BA - beware. You may encounter the charming Mr Caruso, who should never be dealing with the public, and in my opinion should be relieved of his job before he causes any more distress to innocent passengers and does the reputation of the company he works for any more damage.

Sadly, I did not know of any gigs near Stuttgart (?), possibly "secret/private shows" or he just flew back from Stuttgart despite the gigs not being nearby...  ???
Needless to say: don't fly with BA from Stuttgart.  >:(

I'd guess that it draws in those who'd otherwise give it a miss due to having to get up early on Monday to work.

Sunday tea-time is a funny time for a gig

What's better than having your tea while watching TV play?  :) (Oh alright, drinking beer while watching TV play...)

Uli - I'll have one (cup of tea that is) for you.

Shayne - does that mean you're going to that gig?

I'll look forward to a nice cup of tea on Sunday.

Shayne might've booked a hotel nearby, by pure coincidence of course?  :-X

Sadly not. The one we're going to isn't in this country  :)

Marchington is somewhere in this country...isn't it??  ???

Sunday, 5 PM.

Excepting festival appearances, that’s an unusual time for a TV Smith gig. Would it be “Tiffin with Timothy” or a “TV Dinner” I (One Chord) wondered?

The bar forming the venue for this event is also a rather unusual shape for a live music venue as it consists of several small rooms/alcoves radiating out from the central bar area. As I walked in (in the pouring rain – as usual, God never wants me to see TV live!) I noticed TV’s guitar set up in one of the front areas that was already full of (mainly) regulars digesting their Sunday dinners. How will this work I wondered?

I entered to find Sally and Alan Grundy standing at the bar (they’re not daft!) in the area where Tim was due to play. Given my concerns about a tea-time performance, I was rather concerned to note that they were standing right next to the tea and coffee machine! Fortunately, lager remained the drink of the day for those of us imbibing.

Tim arrived and said that rather than doing two sets with a break, he’d prefer to start later (at 6 PM – are there any decent people out at that time of night?) and do one long one. Great – to the bar again!

…and then outside for some catching up and a good laugh until show time.

No need to worry about the venue or time, a great TV Smith gig followed with the crowd being quickly won over. And there was some winning over to do since a load of punks that had come following TV’s appearance the previous night had to listen (no way to see it) in the other little rooms/alcoves or outside. Tim addressed the issue of those outside by saying that he’d been told many times that he sounded better behind double glazing – the crowd liked that one a lot! Towards the end, a few requests came in, including “I Complain”, which Tim did not complain about but merely introduced the song with the appropriate nomenclature.

Two songs new to me were played: “File it under not my problem” (Funny) and another one about a pen breaking/travelling from East to West, etc., etc. (Not Funny). Ideally I’d have written this sooner and I might have remembered what it was called – especially as I’d made a point of asking afterwards what it was called! Oh well, you just can’t get good quality reviewers these days I guess…

The gig ended with the traditional GGE, Bored Teenagers and OCW – Tim broke a string during OCW, so that really was that. Tim finished to rapturous applause and thanked everyone for coming and said how nice it was to play at “The Dog and Partridge” to a real dog – since the soundman had brought his entire family, including a beautiful German Sheppard.

With that it was time for another good laugh before heading for home and getting back in the middle of the night - it must have gone 9.30!

If it's any consolation Alan was on coke and, whilst cold, it has caffeine too.

Even with all that coke Fred, I still remembered the song title - "Already Written Out"!
Even the unusually early start for TV didn't subdue his performance and a (getting on for) 2 hour show (and the good company) rounded off a great weekend of shows for me. The Manchester one was an absolute corker and although I had to
persevere through the majority of bands at Punk Uttoxeter, TV's set was worth it.
I'll swot up on the jokes for Scunthorpe Fred!

I needn't have bothered writing down the set list!  :D

This was the 'gig in another country' I'd mentioned recently that me and Mrs Slaughterboy were going to attend as a surprise.

Got to the venue early (after having a tasty curry just a couple of minutes walk away) and bumped straight into Tim and Sally as we walked in. Surprise it was, no matter how brief.

Tim noted my attempt to disguise our intention to see him in Glasgow by mentioning that my passport had expired (it really had!) and that he was trying to work out which 'foreign' gig we were going to turn up at. Helen hadn't met Sally before but had a good old girlie chat together.

The support act played a bit later than expected. I'm always aware that this minor indiscretion has the negative effect of cutting into Tim's set, but they were ok otherwise.

Tim's set was the usual blast from start to finish. Managed to station myself next to the speaker, stage left and let him bellow in my left ear for the next hour and a bit: worth it, of course!  :)

So...for only the second time in 30 years of holidays with the missus, there's been a gig in town worth attending, by coincidence, while we've been away.

Great night  :)

Essen was a nice little gig, not Sold out but it was good.

Mülheim was the AZ Anniversary Festival, aka. lots of drunk Punks from all over the Rheinland/Ruhrgebiet, drug abuse and stuff. TV had a 60 Minutes Spot on the Big Stage. Was a good mixed Festival Set.

Setlist comes later.

The Flowerpot, Maidstone 20.10.17

Tv return to The Flowerpot for the 2nd time this year and played to a large audience, I would guestimate at around 100 spread over the 2 bars.   Support was from William Harper, quite similar in style to TV, I detected a couple of similar lines to TV's songs, which is not a bad thing.  TV began at 2210hrs and the set list was:-

No Control, Green Zone, We stand alone, 21, flavour, CITL, Replay, Delete, Lion, Useless, Drink, Big Fish, Expensive, Imm Rich, GBM, No Hope St, Overdose, String, Gen Y, GGE, BT, OCW.    RTD as encore.

1hr 20 mins of great entertainment.

No more news on the new album, apart from that it is progressing well.  Only 1 date with the Subs on the early 2018 tour, more dates with the Teenagers to be finalised, with possible ones in Hamburg and London.....  Now I dont want to jinx the latter but Mrs Taff is looking forward to London.....

Another good evening was had, no sign of Slaughterboy.....

Managed to get over Guinnessosis by the drinking of, of course, yet more Guinness!

However, this caused me to forget certain things. Namely, the Maidstone gig, until I did remember it somewhere around 9pm. By then, it was a bit too late to get from SE London to Maidstone: a shame, as my drinking buddy for the evening, when told that I was missing a TV Smith gig, said "...Ooh, is ee the geezer oo does 'Gary Gilmour's Eyes'?...'

'Erm, yeah...' I said.

'...I'd go and see im just for that...' he says.

Well in the back of my mind the thought arose that he might live nearby...
In the interview (far from current, this was back in 2008) he mentioned Cornwall:

As for the possibility of him contributing to TV's next album: would be great.  8)
