Title: Setlists
Post by: EastKentTaff on November 05, 2018, 04:42:42 PM
I have now updated the set-lists for 2018. But, we are missing  6.  being   Northwich,  Bolton, Nottingham, Johannesberg, Exeter & Rebellion, If any has seen them listed anywhere, please let me know.

I have also added a few "nerdy bits"/Trivia etc.  Please note that these are purely taken from the set-lists published..  So, obviously songs MAY have been played at gigs were set-lists have not been published.

Thanks to you for work on the setlists as well!
And to Klaus for maintaing the site and the updates!

I'd say I'd buy you all a beer, but looking at my wallet, it's better if you'll buy me a beer or three...  ;D

Right then..  trivia updates.....

Don't forget this is taken from the Setlists published on the site, so is the best that we can do..

TV's gigs played in Germany now stand at 694

Gary Gilmore has been sung 1798 times
Expensive              "            1497
March of the Giants   "           299

So "milestones" imminent....

I should have been at Leicester, but missed out on all the festivities this year due to the 'flu turning into gastric 'flu.

First time I've ever lost weight at this time of year...

A belated Xmas Bloody Xmas to you all!

Well, it was October 2013 when TV played all the songs of the "I Delete" album (which was not yet released at this point in time) for us at Earthbound Augsburg! I don't know if Klaus has a "setlist", but he video'd the whole thing, so in theory he could extract a setlist from the video (it remained unreleased, as Klaus thought the quality was not good enough).

Ha, I remember Klaus promising me a recording of the gig in Asbach (in Pamp's local pub) back in September 2000. It "only" took him until early 2003 to send it to me! Now that was a pleasant surprise back then, as you can imagine!  :D

Guess who transfered it onto CD back in 2003  ;D

We have such a big Archive of Recordings, if TV ever gets famous as Robbie Williams and the Spice Girls we could sell everything, or bring it on Spotify! We gonna get Rich and Immortal ;D

We could write a Song about "Klaus have the Setlist"  ;D

Btw. The Channel 5 have Anniversary, you Remember Earthbound 2005 where TV played mostly everything from the Channel 5 (except for Dominator, Fire in the Darkness, Cracking Up and Beautiful Bomb) and some where Like "oh please no more Channel 5 Songs? Fun Gig

Oh, that was you? THANK YOU for this!!!  8) Without you I'd probably still be waiting. That was a good gig with a great setlist (incl. many songs which later were to be heard on the NABD album). I even made myself a tape of it, I listened to it in the car for many years!!

... you Remember Earthbound 2005 where TV played mostly everything from the Channel 5 (except for Dominator, Fire in the Darkness, Cracking Up and Beautiful Bomb) and some where Like "oh please no more Channel 5 Songs? Fun Gig

Indeed, I remember it well. Our dear late "Mr C5" was SO happy! (I was quite surprised to hear so many songs from it.)
Sometime during the set a little handwritten note was passed on to TV through the crowd, saying "please no more Channel 5 songs". Naming no names... oh alright, it was forum user "Lari77" who wrote that!!  ;D (Anyone remember her?)

I think this was my first EB, I managed to go to 2 more in Essen ("Anyway") in 2006 and 2007, after that it was too far or unfortunate timing for me... (until the one in Augsburg).

Regarding the erroneous venue. The "poster" did have it wrong and the set-list is correct..

Thanks Phil - every little helps as the old advert used to say. (When I say "old advert" I DON'T mean any member of the band!)

Seriously, this is a useful resource for people interested in tracking down when they saw TV live in the past. I think we all get more nostalgic as we get older, probably as we have more to be nostalgic about. Well, that and the fact that most of our lives are now behind us!

On that happy note...

Wow, you really know how to end the weekend on a happy note.  ::)

I'll be 50 this year (if I can make it that far) and find myself listening to "New York" by Lou Reed or the Cure's "Disintegration", both released when I was 20 yrs old.

Buuut, I'm still looking forward to the next TV gig (probably in May), that's an important thing for me!  :D

The set from the 22nd was the 'antidote' to the very Adverts/Greatest Hits-centred set of the previous day's Punk Festival - you'll notice that GBM was the only Adverts song before the Larry Wallis tribute/traditional trio of songs at the end. (No Time to be 21 was a special request by the soundman and was squeezed in past the 'curfew' as the only encore).

Seeing Johnson & Trump are like "brothers", is it time to play "Atlantic Tunnel" a time or two?  :P

Just a slight correction to this, Bombsite Boy was between No Time to Be 21 & Tomahawk Cruise. Paul-Ronney Angel joined TV on electric guitar and (occasional) backing vocals from Arms of my enemy until the end of the set.

Cheers me dear.  1 question  The Adverts sung twice in Sheffield?

Cheers me dear.  1 question  The Adverts sung twice in Sheffield?

It was already listed on the setlists as opening & closing the show and I've just checked my recording and TV says that they are going to finish the way they started or words to that effect. The Music Machine gig from earlier in the year also has "The Adverts" opening & closing although I don't have a copy of this (hint to anyone who'd like to rectify this!). Was this not around the time that Howard "disappeared"? TV is definitely playing guitar at the Sheffield one. Perhaps he hadn't learnt any other songs?! All three setlists are the same apart from the fact that "The Adverts" didn't close the Glasgow show. Or perhaps it did? The old bootleggers trick of making sure that only you have the complete show may have come into play.
