Glad you enjoyed The Godfathers Uli.
2 gigs for me last week- Rocket From The Crypt in Leeds. Venue was sold out and they were godd but not at their best. Couldn't hear the sax.
Then 999 at the New Cross Inn, London. They played very well, good to see Pablo back too. My first visit to this venue and was impressed- good atmosphere and a real ale bar downstairs. Support band were The Blue Carpet Band- dumb name but pretty good.

City beating the scum yesterday was made even better by Morhino's ridiculous comments before and after the game. ;D

Brix & The Extricated- Part 2
Cock Sparrer- Forever
both excellent

Alice Cooper- Leeds Arena. Not to keen on the big venues and this new one didn't change my mind. Miised the first half of The Tubes set which made me wish I missed the second half too. Fee's band wore white with flat caps. They looked like The Rubettes but sadly didn't sound as good. Worse was to come-The Mission. Fucking awful. The guy next to me said they were like a shit U2. I helpfully pointed out that he just needed to say tHey were like U2. Then Alice put on a great show as always, couple from the new album but no Elected again. Big bonus was the appearance of the original band for the last few songs- Bruce, Dunnaway and Smith. Both bands played the final song, Schools Out meaning there were 2 drummers, 2 bassists and 5 guitarists. Will be seeing him again in Manchester, but not the support acts.

Ever jammed with them?
No- did the sound check with Art once in Edinburgh as the others hadn't arrived.

Aren't you a drummer that's heard a few 999 songs Gareth?!
No and yes.

999- Newcastle 2/11. New venue for me The Globe- nothing special and the sound wasn't great. Sadly Pablo had to pull out at very short notice due to a detached retina. TV's friend Craig stood in. Problem was he couldn't do Glasgow or Edinburgh the next 2 nights but Arturo managed to find a replacement the night before- a guy called Rick from Threats. Art asked him to learn the songs that evening and they'd meet at the venue the following avfternoon to rehearse. Understandably Rick didn't get everything spot on but he did a great job and both nights were very enjoyable, particularly Edinburgh.

Still in our hearts and thoughts.

Now...I know that all humour is subjective but...Ted is to humour what TV is to jazz funk.

Alrighty, thanks. Now you can go and catch up on some sleep!  8)

Leeds Academy- 5 bands for 13. Caught the end of band 2. The it was The Mad Caddies who were excellent. Never seen them before and not really that much into ska-punk but they were much more than that. Bit like The Bosstones. Anti-Flag followed (the reason I went to this gig rather than The Supersuckers up the road). AF have some great songs and could have played a few more if they didn't waste so much time on audience response shite- 'middle fingers, peace signs in the air, circle pit everyone- then the other way, shake hanfs with the person next to you.' etc. They preach the right message but still charge 25 for a T shirt! Headliners were a band I knew nothing about- Reel Big Fish. Never heard anything by them before and hope I never do again. Jazz/ska for kids. I was amazed by the huge turnout (it was cheap though I guess) and by the number of people who knew the words to the songs.
