At least two interesting items here:

Quite fancy getting Cast of Thousands in white vinyl - my original RCA copy is long lost to the ravages of time.  Also, is this the first time it's been possible to buy '...Red Sea...' in red vinyl since 1978?  I still have my original (I'll bore you all one day with the story about how I bought the original, despite misinformation put out by Radio Luxembourg).

Surely this is the song which best sums up the current economic climate?  Newsnight, Channel 4 etc should all be using it as background music to their reports.

TV Songs / TV Smith/Adverts song cover versions

I found a single recently in my record colllection from a group called Haggis - they are fom Boise, Idaho.  It was released in 1992 in a ltd. edition of 300.

So what, you may say?

Well, one of the songs on the 4 track e.p. is a decent cover of the very wonderful 'One Chord Wonders', and it got me wondering about other covers of TV Smith songs.  The only other one I knew of was Lords of the New Church covering 'The Lord's Prayer'.

Searching the web, I found that covers of 'Gary Gilmore's Eyes' were made by The Nutley Brass in 1996 and the London Punkharmonic Orchestra in 1998 - are these any good?

And are there any other TV Smith cover versions out there?

(PS - I'm not counting Suzy and Los Quatros doing 'New Church' or Die Toten Hosen doing 'Gary Gimore's Eyes' as TV sung on those versions).

Do you have to get a ticket for this or is it just turn up at the door?

World Trading / CAST OF THOUSANDS vinyl

A good chance to get this rare LP.  Let's hope it goes to a genuine TV/Adverts fan (I'm not the seller, in case anyone is wondering).

EBay (UK) also has plenty of other Adverts and TV stuff.
