Seaham Leisure Centre, near Sunderland; a big cavernous sports hall, too much echo but a good turnout to see 999 and The Members.
Members were OK, nothing special but they did well considering they were missing their lead guitarist. 999 with Craig Casson on drums, much better.

The singer announced 'little girl' in Newcastle but Cheetah said he hated it, so they did call on you instead.

I see that PiL have just been announced for Rebellion. This is a little surprising considering how 'divisive' they were on there last appearance there.
Good news- the headliners so far were nothing to get excited about.

Dead Boys- Sheffield last thursday. Totally brilliant. 40 minute set including all the 1st album plus 3 from the 2nd. They could have done a few more from the 2nd one and 22 was a bit steep but definitely worth it. I doubted I'd see a better gig all year.
I was wrong- Dead Boys- Newcastle last night. My first visit to the Riverside, great venue. I arrived at 8.50 just in time to see them walk on stage. Even better than Sheffield. See them if you get the chance.

nice tribute to M.E.S. on last night's match of the day- him reading the football results a few years back, edited to match yesterday's results. And thisafternoons programme had hit the north at the end accompanying City's goals. Sad news- The Fall hadn't made a decent album in years and the current lineup sucked. Their earlier output had many moments of genius though.

Glad you enjoyed The Godfathers Uli.
2 gigs for me last week- Rocket From The Crypt in Leeds. Venue was sold out and they were godd but not at their best. Couldn't hear the sax.
Then 999 at the New Cross Inn, London. They played very well, good to see Pablo back too. My first visit to this venue and was impressed- good atmosphere and a real ale bar downstairs. Support band were The Blue Carpet Band- dumb name but pretty good.

City beating the scum yesterday was made even better by Morhino's ridiculous comments before and after the game. ;D
