Hey, congratulations from me, too!!! You have been catching up indeed! (Might have to do with me not being on the net for more than two weeks...)  :)

TV Chat / meeting

Yep, would be nice to have such a meeting! TV told me that maybe he will come to Germany in December, but nothing certain as yet...

World Chat / better look
« on: August 01, 2002, 09:26:27 AM »
Oh yeah, thanks, it looks better now!!
At least the Pistols did some unexpected covers. But they still seem to be no different than other old rock bands reforming like The Eagles indeed...
Would still have enjoyed to see the Pistols at least once. Maybe next time!

TV Chat / TV gig
« on: July 30, 2002, 04:36:00 PM »
Hi Jock!
Would be nice to see you at a TV gig, but I doubt it will happen soon unless you come to a gig in Germany...
I enjoyed my holiday in London too (apart from the weekend I mentioned), but I probably won't have the time or money to do it again soon. But I can imagine getting back there at least for a few days at some point in time.

I booked my B&B (it was not far from Clapham Junction railway and Clapham South tube stations) through a German agency which organises B&B's in London. Price was 50 Euro per night, which should be around 30 GBP. Not exactly cheap, but it was good to be there. I even had the whole house for myself as the family was on holiday for a good while!

Btw, I phoned fleagle to ask if you had gotten in touch with him, he told me you had but that you wouldn't have the time to meet up with us as you were staying with your friends. Would have been nice to meet up for a beer, but maybe at another time...

TV Chat / expensive
« on: July 30, 2002, 11:06:18 AM »
Jock, you're right, everything's so expensive in London...8O
I had only a little cash left for that weekend, at least I was able to stay in my B&B, the landlady was outta the house anyway, when I asked later about the two extra nights and how much she wanted for these, she just said "forget it", really nice!
I really tried to save every penny for two days, then suddenly the bank card worked again.

Sorry to hear there were no big screens at the Pistols gig. At the Cure gig there were, but I wouldn't have needed them as my sight to the stage wasn't too bad (at first I stayed close to the mixing desk, but moved forward later)...
Musically the Pistols were alright, I hope?

Kings X station is probably not the best place to spend the night after all I'd heard...
But still good to hear you enjoyed meeting T.V. and Gaye.

Can one say 'The World Just Got Smaller Again'  :!:

Ha ha, that's exactly what T.V. said at the station!!!

World Chat / Oooops

Wow, at the time I hadn't noticed at all how many posts I'd done! But the Fleagles told me when we met up in London, thus we were able to celebrate this together!!! Great fun! :D  :D  :D

World Chat / Thanks
« on: July 29, 2002, 05:38:37 PM »
Hey man, thanks for this great write-up about all the old punks!!
I missed Blackpool and the Pistols too, but at least I managed to catch the Damned (supported by ex-guitarist Brian James) at Shepherds Bush... This gig was indeed filmed professionally, so we might get a DVD someday!

What did happen to Uli and all the other folks who were going to HITS ??
did Uli get stuck in that traffic jam or what ? pitty you missed the show guys .

Sorry Jock, couldn't make it because of cash problems, bank card wasn't working for two days (then suddenly did work again as if nothing had happened)!! Maybe T.V. told you already as I met him at Victoria when he was about to join you and others for the Pistols show (had The Cure not been on the same day I would have gone as well)!
I must say I had two bad days, stranded in London with not very much cash left and not being able to go to Blackpool. After that it went better again and it was great to see T.V. by chance. (I didn't believe I would see him these days but strange things do happen.)

Hope you enjoyed the Pistols as much as I enjoyed Cure, Mogwai and Cranes! It was a great day, nice weather and all that.

Btw, The Damned at Shepherds Bush Empire were also great!

TV Live / Sorry
« on: July 29, 2002, 05:08:22 PM »
Hi Fleagles,
sorry, couldn't phone you anymore on Sunday!! Thanks very much for your kindness and all the drinks!  :D
Yes, I might have found an internet cafe or used mrs fleagle's computer but I am obviously not that addicted! :)

To all others: sorry I couldn't make it to Blackpool, my bankcard wasn't working so I could not buy me a train ticket. Bad luck.

But at least I can tell you I met T.V. by accident at Victoria station, he was just about to board the train I'd left!! So we could at least have a nice chat before the train departed...  :)

To the others: see you in Blackpool!!

To all on the forum: Bye, will be back in nearly 3 weeks!! :)

looking at the cover,my copy of the vinyl says expulsion records,1983.found it about 86 at a record fair.dont know how many copies were made, but supposedly a defect with vinyl.

You're right, the liner notes of the CD say the vinyl was defect and after three plays it was nearly destroyed...
Company went bankrupt before the album could go anywhere, bad luck for our T.V.! Hopefully with his new album things will work out much, much better!!

TV Chat / 100%
« on: July 09, 2002, 04:22:26 PM »
Great to hear I had 100% right... :D
Look forward to meet you in London, fleagles!

Klaus, who do you mean - Steve Triumph?
By the way, Damned singer Dave Vanian owns a Harley!  Oh, I mentioned the evil word...

To bring this thread back to TV related, he once told me that Captain Sensible of The Damned was or is a friend of him.

Sorry hippiedave, I wanted to put together 24 tracks for the hypothetical punk CD but my time runs out as I wanna start packing things for my UK journey. Maybe later...
