Okay, Boss, what next?  :)

Nice review, Mrs fleagle! Enjoyable reading. And TV being so nice to wait till all smokers and beer drinkers are ready for the gig!

I really don't wanna think about what they might have filled in bottles named Golden Showers...  :?

I don't have a clue!  :?

Great!

Reminds me of a fanzine writer who started to do it on a computer instead of cutting and glueing it all. After the first issue done on PC he wrote "someone please hand me back the manual controls of this ship or we'll all be in big trouble"...

Kaenga, it's good to know I'm not alone with this problem.
Btw, today it showed me "13 posts", so it seems to work.

TV Chat / TV on new compilation LP
« on: December 04, 2002, 02:34:02 PM »
Actually I'm happy it's a vinyl LP, as I prefer vinyl anyway. That digital sound is a cheat if you ask me... Sounds no way better than analog but they make more cash out of CD's, which was the reason for the whole thing.
I think I'll go to Stuttgart anyway soon, so I'll try and find the LP (should be available there as the track was recorded in Stuttgart, huh?)...

Well, in fact I hope for all of these (maybe he'll leave out "Es stoert mich nicht" and "Only One Flavour")!
Otherwise these songs will land among all the unreleased songs in the archives and we will only hear them again in about 20 years when TJ shouts for them at TV gigs...

World Chat / Nice one
« on: December 03, 2002, 09:46:44 AM »
Hey, that's a nice one, good to read all that...
I'd like to see Hugh Cornwell (but he doesn't seem to tour Germany these days), as I heard some of his recent solo stuff which was quite good.
Also I really enjoyed the "new" Stranglers when I saw them in Stuttgart early 2001! The first time I'd seen them was in 1995, which was also just as good (even though you had to get used to Paul Roberts)... However I think it's about time for a new recording, the last one was from '98 and since then they've been trading on past glories (live CD's, compilations etc.).

I've never seen Sham 69, but I chatted to Dave Tregunna at a Lords of the New Church gig (who also reformed in a new line-up) in Stuttgart in April and he was friendly. I saw him again in July in London at Shepherd's Bush Empire where he performed with Brian James as support act of The Damned. I bumped into him on my way to the toilets, he even seemed to remember me from the Stuttgart gig!

Actually I do remember The Alarm from about '85 and I enjoyed some songs back then (Strength, Spirit of '76), but I didn't really care for much of the later stuff I'd heard. Also I'm not sure if I'd be interested in a reformed Alarm of 2002, but maybe I'd try to catch them if they'd play nearby. Mike Peters solo would be a little more interesting maybe, but also I wouldn't travel very far I guess...

Hanoi Rocks? I never knew much about them. Isn't Michael Monroe their singer? He supported Iggy Pop at a gig in 2000, which was quite enjoyable. He covered "Looking At You" (MC5) and "Machine Gun Etiquette" (Damned), so he must have a nice record collection!

Oh how I'd love to see TV live again. He seems to be in top form right now!

TV Chat / TV on new compilation LP
« on: December 01, 2002, 05:03:55 PM »
I think it's very interesting that TV is featured with a new song on this LP "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" from Twisted Chords label. Especially as it is a live recording of "Soon As I Found It I Lost It" (great song) AND it was recorded in Stuttgart (where some friends and myself were present) :!:
Must get this one. However I don't wanna order via the internet (don't think I will find much else to order from the Twisted Chords homepage), so I will see if I'll find the album in the shops...

Now we finally know: Cheap sounds like The Sweet :!:
TV will be proud!

When I first heard Cheap, to be honest, they reminded me of the only other TV band I knew at the time: The Adverts...
Hmmmm...

That's right, TJ, when I told someone about TV Smith, describing how he plays live, she first thought I was talking about Billy Bragg!
Don't know he sounds live, never seen him...
