TV Live / How Does TV Manage So Many Gigs?
« on: October 22, 2002, 09:25:00 AM »
Of course I didn't wanna say TV does it because he 's greedy for the money, but even our heroes have to eat...

Sounds definitely interesting! Only trouble is my bank account has got into trouble since I was in UK...
Also wanted to order more Doctors Of Madness CD's from Ozit, but haven't done yet.
Must wait till the situation is better...

TV Chat / Diary No. 26 now online!
« on: October 22, 2002, 09:17:39 AM »
Meanwhile I read the diary, excellent fun again :!:  :!:

Also yesterday after reading about Punk Lurex OK and all this, I saw a CD in a shop: a compilation (Vol. 3 I think) by Teenage Rebel Rec., it includes "The Future Used To Be Better" from this 7" they had put out (and also a track from Punk Lurex OK's LP), it is the first track on this cheapo CD, so hopefully some people will discover TV Smith...

Klaus, I'm glad to hear you did spend your holiday in another way and thus doing something for the reputation of German tourists :!:
 :)  :)  :)

you've been 30 minutes too early.
BTW: You didn't really expect me to sit in front of
the PC at midnight to get the update done at 0:00 AM? :D

Why not :?:
That's your job!!! :!:

Doesn't matter I was too early. Also I was confused by you saying it was to be on Sunday 19th, because that was 20th already...

I will read the diary after I finished here...

World Chat / too bad
« on: October 21, 2002, 08:30:52 AM »
Too bad for you, Klaus :!:
But at least I guess you didn't spend your holiday drinking at "Ballermann", did you?

TV Live / many gigs
« on: October 20, 2002, 12:37:59 PM »
Yeah, methinks too that TV does tour quite a lot (plus some extra single gigs like Austria soon)! I think he enjoys doing it, and it's his "job" after all - I suppose record sales are not enough to make a living for TV (though he would deserve it - on the other hand I wouldn't want him to stop touring though)!
I think it's much better for musicians to play live a lot than literally spending years in recording studios (as some of the big groups have done). Though TV does deserve a lot of respect for giving so much energy on stage after a day of travelling to the venue and (sometimes) struggling with promoters, club owners, hotel clerks etc.!!  :)

Really? I didn't spot the update on the homepage, must have a look again :!:
Did TV do a diary of his US tour :?:
I guess it would be excellent and funny to read his comments on the American lifestyle!

World Chat / ketchup
« on: October 20, 2002, 12:20:29 PM »
Oh no, do you poor Brits have that Ketchup Song in the charts as well :?:
It's a bunch of rubbish if you ask me and the lyrics are absolutely meaningless. Apparently the song came up in Mallorca where many Germans (and Brits) are drinking away their holiday...

TV Chat / book
« on: October 18, 2002, 08:22:22 AM »
Yeah, I agree, apart from writing great lyrics for his songs, he's also got a talent for this. I'd love to read a book written in the style of his diaries...

TV Chat / Hmmm
« on: October 17, 2002, 03:22:05 PM »
Hm, I think I got it wrong: I already did read the latest addition...
Will there be any more to come soon :?:
Looking forward :!:

TV Live / new album
« on: October 17, 2002, 08:07:50 AM »
Thanks TJ for asking about the new album :!:
So this means we'll have to wait about six more months for the new one  :?:
Oh, this will be a hard time... waiting...
Hopefully we'll get some gigs down here before!

Hm, it seems like I still have to read the latest addition, it's about time I guess...
They're always fun to read!

World Chat / Attila
« on: October 14, 2002, 09:18:13 AM »
Yesterday I went to see Attila in Ludwigsburg (about an hour to drive, but well worth it). I missed the first few songs because I found the venue (an alternative thing called "Demokratisches Zentrum") too late. But what I heard was good! It was his first solo tour for years apparently, so I'm glad I could listen to his songs and poems. Of course he mentioned what he thinks about people like Blair, Bush and Murdoch...
He also read a poem about football, but the strange thing was that his explanation before was much longer than the poem itself!
A medley of Clash songs was one of the encores.
Partly, I think what he does is similar to what TV does on stage, he also explains his songs in German.
JS was there too, nice to see you again :!:
:)  :)  :)

Why not come to the UK  :?:

If you went to all of TV's UK gigs you would get to see most of the country

Mrs Fleagle

Going to the UK to see gigs  :?:  - I absolutely can't understand how anyone on earth can do that...
