TV Chat / pissed
« on: December 26, 2002, 04:01:31 PM »
Seems like many people were getting pissed for Xmas...
 :o
I had some wine to go with the meal on Xmas eve and as it was quite strong stuff I felt numb for the rest of the night.

Thanks for your congratulations!
 :)

I didn't think we 'd get the Forum back before Xmas. That was a real fast solution, Klaus.

TV Chat / 300!
« on: December 23, 2002, 06:31:48 PM »
I just found out that I was at 299 posts, so I have to post this one to fill up the 300 :!:
Congratulations to myself etc. bla bla!

So I'm saying good-bye now until sometime after Xmas, hopefully we will have the website back soon (I'm sure Klaus and TV will do anything possible)!
It will be easier for me to count on from 300 onwards...

Yes, it is shocking because it happened so suddenly, out of the blue. When I first read a message about it, I couldn't really believe it.  :(

Maybe Klaus will manage to save all the posts, so we can continue where we stopped. We will see.

I thought maybe today everyone posts in panic because they all think it's the last chance! :)

« on: December 23, 2002, 03:17:11 PM »
Yeah, I wanted to come here too over Xmas...
Especially sad as today it seems to work so well! Lots of posts within a few hours. Or has everybody just posted in panic?

Merry Xmas to all of you!

World Chat / difficult
« on: December 23, 2002, 03:03:00 PM »
Wow, this becomes hard work here, a difficult choice as there are so many!
Well I won't make them into a list, just tell the titles how they come to my mind:
Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Taxi Driver, Minority Report, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, D.O. A., Into The Night and many more...

Also I like to watch old horror movies (b/w) or "films noir" from time to time.

Recently I re-watched "The Big Lebowski" by the Coen brothers, I'd almost forgotten how funny it was... Great movie!

Okay, one day I might try (after I finished Lord of the Rings, i.e. in about ten years, ha ha)...

World Chat / The Clash - sad news
« on: December 23, 2002, 02:49:55 PM »
A bit of sad news to start Xmas with. On reading "The Clash" in your list: Just heard (on the Official Damned message board) that Joe Strummer died of a heart attack...  :(
Don't know if it is true, but apparently someone took it from the BBC.

World Chat / Fave bands
« on: December 23, 2002, 02:47:08 PM »
Ok, you asked for it, I can tell you I like tons of other music besides TV Smith. It ranges from sixties psychedelic (garage punk) over Punk rock and Grunge up to softish girlie folk singers...
My favourite bands are The Damned and The Cure.
Also I like The Waterboys, The Stranglers, Cranes, The Chameleons, early Pink Floyd...
A few 'solo' artists I'd like to mention: Sonny Vincent (check him out if you like oldschool punkrock!!), Heather Nova, Iggy Pop ...
 :o
I could go on and on, but that's it for now.

Your taste seems okay, Chris. I used to like Nirvana and all that. I dislike most of those new metal bands too.

I watched the first part of Lord of the Rings, I'm going to see the second part soon! Haven't read the books though, I'm lazy when it comes to reading nowadays. But it's getting better since I bought books by Philip K. Dick.
Didn't care much for Harry's Plotter to be honest.
 :)

Disaster, apocalypse...
We'll all be lost without the website and forum, of course.

Okay, so for the next few days I won't have to take the trouble to try and log in. Which will add to a quiet Xmas.
Hope to hear from all of you again on the backup website and forum.
