Yup sounds good.

I went to the last night of the Ultravox reunion tour in Belfast back in May.. They were excellent too.

Of course.. I forgot "The Rams"...  obviously really.

Went to Cardiff last night to see the Russia game..  Not bad, good promise, just need good referees!

So who were the Sheep Shaggers??   Cardiff not in your league (as in not in your division, not as in quality of play.... if you get me?)  Jack Bastards are not either (although they should be),  Wrexham Well!

Well I am glad that you all had a great time.

I knew that I was pushing it, in trying to get there by train.

Eurostar was on time into Brussels, I made my 10 minute connection there for the train to Koln.. all going well... then loss of power to the loco...   Stuck somewhere between Liege & Aachen for 3 1/2 hours...  Finally got to Aachen at 1700...

Choices... Approx arrival in Paderborn 2100hrs or turn around and get home the same night..  My own bed won...

Forgot to mention for all you "Trivia" fiends..  The owner of the Westgate Pavilion, is Kevin Crace.. who I believe owned the record label that Immortal Rich was on (Humbug)  Over to you TJ to confirm..

Another teasing tit bit, is that he (Kevin) has the "Masters" for the never released "Live in Austin (TX)" gig.  says that he might put it on CD......

Let me set the scene..  A huge Theatre, big lighting rig, good sound system, smallish bar, nice evening, nothing on the telly.. just right for the massive hoards of Kentish Music fans to descend to hear one of the best songsmiths of the last 40 years....

Ok, now to the reality. Arrived at said venue 20 mins before advertised start, parked right outside, no queue.

Inside, 4 people.... TV, Kevin (the promoter & owner), the ticket seller and the barman.. Oh plus 2 dogs (more of them later!)...

Looks like a quiet night says TV, I suggest back to mine!!!

Slowly more arrive..  2 in fact (both from Sheffield) (TJ knows them both!), then 2 more from Margate (both on the guest list of the owner).

TV thinks about moving from the stage to the floor, but the backround lighting of 300 bulbs (yes I counted them) was all too alluring..

830 time to start. March of the Giants, then Only One Flavour, during which TV is heckled by the 2 dogs.. Next song is dedicated to the aforesaid dogs  Newshound.. we then follow a animal theme, Bring the Bull Down, Lion & The Lamb, Strong Horse, Day we caught the big fish.. (debate over whether a Fish is an animal or not), TV runs out of Animal songs.. Kevin suggests "Champion the One Chord Wonder horse), I suggest Not a Bad Dace, that is followed by My Pla(i)ce.   End of Animals & Fish.  Later on Themes start again.. Runaway Train Driver, who then goes through the Atlantic Tunnel, to EuroDisneyland Tomorrow..

Set finishes at 1030, 30 songs (if you include Punk Rock Poem)... Last train to London is at 1107, bit of doubt as to whether it stops at Westgate (it did), so took TV back to my local station.. Damn forgot to take a photo of a rock star at a country village station...  Sheffield boys staying over in Margate.

Boy did those who failed to support the promoter miss out.  Felt gutted for him and TV.

Set List..  Giants, 1 Flavour, Newshound, Bull, Lion, Horse, Big Fish, Lords Prayer, New Church, Axe to drop, Green Line, NABD, My Place, Poem, GGE, Train Driver, Atlantic Tunnel, Euro Disney, String, Arms, Expensive, 21, Bored, Imm Rich, Gen Y, NIMN, Useless, OCW,  Encore!! of Tom Cruise, Good Times.

Quote of the night from TV.. Not many times that he has been able to personally say goodnight to everyone in the audience.

A member of Cockney Rebel was on the flight.

The only posters I found were at the venue....  Nothing in the town that I could see.

It says that the gig is from 8pm until late..  7 on the door.

Venue is 10 min walk from Westgate Station

Cannot find anything locally to confirm the gig, certainly nothing on the venues web-site.

Will have a drive down tomorrow to check it out.

Anyone from the list expecting to come down??

Also the Stiff prog is being shown again on Friday night (21st), so if your not coming to Westgate, watch it or record it to watch after coming to Westgate.
