World Of TUTS / Not In Taffs Name - Kingdom TV on Sunday 7th June
« on: June 08, 2009, 12:55:40 PM »
In the programme Kingdom last night, Stephen Fry's character was acting (for he is a lawyer) for a client injured in the middle east...  Kingdom (Fry) utters, "it is a tragedy that the compensation offered by the MOD is apalling, considering that he went there (Iraq) to fight for us".   Fry's side-kick retorts "Not in my name he didn't"!!!!!  Loud cheers in the Taff household...

Ed Tudor Poles set, was manic to say the least.

The range of facial expressions ranged from Frank Spencer to Max Wall (god i'm old!) add in "Townsendesque" arm gyrations, while thumping his feet at completly different angles.  Plus playing a left handed guitar the wrong way round, which was held together with masking tape and around his neck by string.  And he leaked so much, it was like Lee Evans on a bad day.

Tunes ranged from a Chuck Berry cover through to "who killed Bambi" then "Three Bells" to "Swords" and a song which the audience had to make motorbike noises.

In all, 1 hour of mayhem.  So in all an excellent evening

Yes, the whole evening was superb.

1st ever visit to The Kelsey, nice large bar, 1 guest ale Harveys from Sussex, very nice.

TV was "soundchecking" when I arrived, completly failed to see Ed Tudor Pole who was sitting behind me..

TV played around 100 mins, to a good sized crowd over approx 100-120, a couple of new tunes for me.

Ed Tudor Pole was completely manic and did an hour and 1 encore song.

"Enemy" on in the car on the way home, very loud..... No Mrs Taff with me.. Ha!

Kingston next.....

All the best from Phil & Jacky (Whitstable),

Excellent night at The Wells...

An excellent read.

Just goes to show what sacrifices some artistes go to to get to gigs and put shows on for our enjoyment..

When they had a similar round a couple of years ago, Gaye was one of the answers...
