I hardly need add that I am shocked and saddened that we have lost Alan. An absolutely lovely man to know and we'll all miss him. Condolences to the family - I wish you lots of strength going forward, and many happy memories of a fine human being.

Thank you all! I shall endeavour to continue in your service for - well, another 60 years might be a wee bit ambitious, but as long as is humanly possible!

Officially doors open at 4:30 and I'm on at 5:30 - a slim half hour only on stage I'm afraid!

Not all the gigs get in the gig list, Phil! It was a private gig for the 50th birthday party of my friend Thierry, who first invited Cheap and Captain Sensible to play a notorious couple of gigs in Paris in the early '90s, then went on to organise solo gigs for me all over France over the next few years and released the French edition of "Immortal Rich" on his own label Datcha.

Don't know if this is the same person who made the same request to me via facebook - but here they are:

BACK FROM THE DEAD

There's no traffic on the streets
Abandon the cars and walk home
We've come to a standstill
There's very little point in going on

There's no message in our heads
We talk in strange guttural sounds
We're back from the dead
It's senseless but we carry on

So we feel like primal man
Chew on meat from the weathered hand
Imprisoned where we stand
Back from the dead

Dance around to the sound of drums
Hold the pills on the tips of our tongues
But choose life instead
Back from the dead

We walk in our bubbles, walk among statues
Talk in our sleep
Freeze in our doorways
There's very little point in going on

Switch on machines, switch out the light
Exhaust our decay
No-one will find us
It's senseless but we carry on

TV Songs / Re: Forthcoming 'Gary Gilmore's Eyes' Remix 12"

5? There's only four versions on the record! There were plenty more than that pressed, by the way. That's probably just the amount Attrition have had shipped over from Belgium. I have a similar amount for gig sales but nearly all gone already.

I did a re-write of "Paradis des Vendus" working with the lyrical themes of the original, and also wrote a complete new lyric and vocal melody for the song Campino sings, "Uniform." Worked out pretty good I think!

You love it  ;)
This project started many years ago after Martin Bowes from Attrition told me he wanted to record a new version of the song. I stayed over at his place one night after a gig in Coventry and we recorded a new acoustic version for him to build an electronic remix on. After that Attrition became very big in the club/goth scene, Martin got very busy with that and the idea slept for a few years. He finally got round to his remix recently, then contacted a guy from a label in Belgium who then came to one of my gigs over there and told me he was very excited about it. He did a couple of remixes too, and we also kept the original acoustic version on the EP. I'm not saying this is going to go down well with all Adverts fans, but I think it's a worthwhile direction to take the song - something different rather than just another punk rehash.

It's free entry so will be difficult to reserve places! Hope you manage to squeeze in...think I'll be on stage quite early.
