TV Songs / TV Sound Bites

The thing I like about TV's lyrics are his play on words where he perverts well known phrases, my favourite (I think) is 'the tried and twisted crew', and 'the pacifist bomb squad blown to parts' is probably a close second.

I first saw TV play solo at the Hull Poetry festival and in many ways that sums up his music for me - Migt sound daft but has TV ever thought of releasing a poetry book with them all in working with a decent illustrator/photographer to bring them to life?

I'm also the proud owner of a pond, dug it out last year much to my wife's horror! Frog's spawn's great, but you really need newts... Its so mild at the moment that our newts are out already!

But my tip for frogs are watch out for water bettle larvae or even waterboatmen as they eat an awful lot of tadpoles

Rock'n'roll!

Just received it in the post tonight and I can't recommend this DVD enough; it has live footage of the Adverts at the Marquee (circa '77) blasting through One Chord Wonders and the end of Gary Gilmore, it then includes footage from a couple of Berlin gigs (from '78?) and covers Gary Gilmores Eyes, Love Songs, Televisions Over, and Great British Mistake.

It also features the Clash (6 songs or so), X Ray Spex, Lurkers, Subway Sect, and the Jam. And it even includes the Killjoys who later became Dexys Midnight Runners....
