"I haven't got a dancing bone in my body" TV said on the rather dissapointing Roundtable record review programme.

 :?

:? So why waste 7 minutes and 27 seconds on his awesome new album :?:

So here we have an interesting topic.
Are the 7 minutes and 27 seconds, which Revolution takes on the new album, really wasted?
What were TV's and Tim Cross' intentions when they decided to put this song on the album?
What do you think, TUTS?

Not sure if it's wasted, but it still is my least favourite track of the CD.
Maybe we should ask the 2 Tims about their intentions :?:

One thing definitely is very good about 'Revolution'.
It makes it very easy for most of the TUTS to name their least favourite track on NABD.

Yep!

I really tried to like it but...

I think it's far more down to TC than TV though.

Maybe (and just maybe) their intention was to say that there so many kind of teenage "revolutions" which didn't really change much, from punk to grunge and techno... Maybe they're trying to say it's basically all the same, just with different clothes and different music. (Possibly that's why they used a techno beat?)

I think it's the worst song ever on a TV Smith album.

the seven minutes are wasted.
They'll tell you that they love you, like a spider loves a fly.
Promise you you're safe but never look you in the eye.

Actually I am a bit disappointed about the overall reaction towards Revolution.
I think it's a mistake to compare the track with all the other usual TV songs. The song has its moments. IMHO even musically.

Uli did write some interesting lines, where he focused on the meaning of that song.
TV and TC chose some other kind of music to transport the message. And that's what makes this song so special.
If you take it as a whole I don't think it's wasted space.

I don't like techno music and I will never like it.
Revolution gets one of ten points in the song chart.

I listened to it twice (three times if you count the one in your car) and that's enough.

Hosenfan,

you have to take a few drugs in order to improve your reception of that music. I recommend some Ecstasy.

I was expecting this. See my post elsewhere on the forum about rating restrictions for Revolution.

aha ...so big brother is about then

after looking at the the various comments made by yourself,Klaus,Uli,TJ and Hosen Fan - much to my amusement - after long and hard consideration - weighing up the plus and minuses, deliberating and congutating, after many many listens (well one actually) - I have come to the conclusion that I would not like to indulge myself in the delights of that particular song anymore.

ie - Im with you hosen fan - tis a bag of shite!

No wonder fleagle,
you even prefer Joe Strummer's Clash-retro-song 'Coma Girl' over the best what TV has done, so far.
Really put me in a state of shock for a short while when I read your post about 'Coma Girl' being your favourite song of the year. 8O
But it will be interesting to hear what's your favourite song at the end of the year. Will 'Coma Girl' stand its ground?
