This week I have had the aural delectation of............

Goldblade - do you believe in the power of rock n roll

Ruby - short staffed at the gene pool

Thatcher on Acid - can we laugh now?

Magazine - box set thang!

And live wise - The Damned(bolloxs I'm afraid!)/Gash/foamers/de capo/17 stitches/new model army/goldblade and last week penetration!

Ah will this punk rock life never end :?:
ello, good evening and welcome........

For me I finally treated myself to the Libertines album, and I'm very impressed. Although admittedly patchy when its good its very very good. It's also fun trying to spot the influences - I swear they've ripped off Puff the Magic Dragon at one point, excellent.

Oh, and the Yobs are now dusted off and playing - it's C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S!

Oh, and has anybody got TV a Santa hat yet?

I saw them supporting the Pistols and thought they were awful.

I watched a tele programme they were on to gave them a second chance and again thought they were awful - am I missing something?

.......Well I won't deny they are a little patchy but when then they're good.... you can also tell the Clash's Mick Jones has produced as there's a vague 'Clash meets the Blue Orchids'.

You will be telling me next you don't like the Strokes....

...psychic!

They're nothing to write home about either - a lot of these bands that are big now wouldn't have been anything other than also rans if they were around at the same time as the bands they are copying!

Best of the current bunch, in my humble opinion, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: http://www.blackrebelmotorcycleclub.com/

Check it out for some good downloads on their jukebox - there are actually 4 tracks - just click on the down arrow!

Yesterday I got a link to the TOTP 2 website and discovered you can watch video clips of songs featured on the show (they are not very long though)  :D

If you are really bored you can trawl through the lot and have a trip down memory lane, listening to bits of songs you had forgotten about  :D

Or if you want to see a very young TV then go to the video clips for 20th August 2003, Left hand menu Music - Show Clips

I do like the Libertines.

Dislike Strokes (boring) and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Currently listening to old Jimmy Cliff albums.

New bands I am currently listening to: Bleach and Fighting Jacks.

Does anyone know 'Against Me'?
Their latest album 'The eternal cowboy' is IMHO brilliant!

At the moment I can't take Gene (best of), Muse (Abolition) and Joe Strummer off my car juke box.

Love 'em all.  :D

I'm particularly Gene mad this week. :D

Still Gene mad. They are in the car Cd player, the kitchen and the office. :D

My most played DVD tracks are by Generation X on my new Greatest Punk DVD. The Generation X tracks are New Order (not 100 Punks as it says on the cover) and Wild Youth.

Hmm they both begin with the letters Gene...

...That reminds me I never did tell you TUTS my favourite band of 1976 did I.

Oh no, please tell me it's not Genesis...

I'm currently listening to the (new) albums by The Stranglers, Heather Nova, Mogwai, Auf der Maur, a "horror punk" compilation and some mix tapes (I did myself for the car etc.) and also the MCD "Freak Show" by Suzy & los Quattro!  :)
Just around the corner and miles away...
