but why do you think its going up....................................... could it be the war uli?

Partly yes, it is to blame on uncertain situation in Iraq and Arabia in general... But as I pointed out above it's also because the OPEC sometimes decides just for fun to sell less oil to the market which makes the prices go up. However as their last decision was to put a bit more oil to the market again, at least here in Germany petrol prices are dropping (a bit)...
Yes, you're right, basically the buyers (us) should have the power over the market. Something like a general strike would be a way of showing them that buyers are not happy with the prices...

but,im afraid the english arnt known for direct action.it seems we dont have the balls anymore.a peaceful waving of a flag walking to ten downing street changes nothing. in france, theyd be a full on near riot if things went the way they have hear with the petrol.come the next budget (the one before the general election)    the petrol will come down a little.but, people forget how much money the chancellor has made outve these latest absurd uneccessary increases.its about time everyone took to the streets in this "cuntry" but to some people eastenders is of prime importance. (mind you the money will go towards building some nice new flats and houses for some "political asylum" seekers or heroin addicts so,i cant compalin)
change of subject"sad but true"
a week or so ago we had a power cut over an area of approx 10/ 20 square mile.all the neighbours were out chatting and talking over their garden walls etc.is this how it was before the tv numbed our sense of communication? as soon as the power was back on i heard one neighbour say "it couldnt have come at a worse time i missed eastenders"! :x   i was worried sick about my supply of becks going warm all she could think about was a unreal tv soap.

Uh, we've discussed this before... I don't think it's good blaming the refugees and druggies... Especially in countries where tax money is spent by a Royal Family or for "prestige" buildings like museums or the Millenium Dome etc.  Tongue
We don't have it that bad in our Western countries, we haven't had a war in Central Europe for 50 years. So I can't say politics did everything wrong here...

  We could argue about what's more or less important, the "drug" called Beck's or a soap tv show...  Shocked
But it's sad if people have nothing more in mind than Eastenders...  :x

Humans are meant to have been on the planet for around 300'000 years in o current state...and we are unable to have a 50 year peace in central europe alone...I don't know about anyone else, but that worries me  Sad

Your right abused and confused, why can’t we just stop the never-ending killing? I just don’t understand humans, this world could be such a good place for all of us, but when people see leaders like Thatcher they think it is ok to be selfish and ruin it for everyone else.

Too bloody right mate! I'm not saying violence, riots, petrol bombs etc are the way to go, but it gets the politicians thinking and scares them into DOING something at least - by god has this country lost some backbone! The unions are completely useless, arse licking cowards for one thing. Everyone seems more intent on not rocking the boat nowadays - how easy, roll over like a dog and accept everything that gets thrust at you cos it's 'not worth fighting'

Marcus me and you will start ......... after Eastenders tho ok?

Blair would probably have a seizure if he ever had to cope with something as real and genuinely anti government as the poll tax riots.
