If anyone is interested, on the Biography Channel on Sky TV, there is a documentary about Gary Gilmore on Sunday at 11.30 pm and repeated Tuesday at 2 pm.

I taped the documentary and have just watched it, alas no TV sound track, but an interesting programme all the same.  They did mention his body being taken to the hospital for transplantable organs to be removed though.

Funny how TV's most successful song has got some of the least comments on his forum....

Anyway I stumbled on this interesting fan's homemade video on youtube today:

Nice one Alan. The vid's well worth watching

Perhaps there are so few posts about the song because as fun as it is we all know that Tv exceeded it many times over. From crossing the Red Sea to jumping into The Arms Of The Enemy. ;)

I left this comment...

If only more people would listen to the 200 songs of great wisdom and inspiration that TV Smith wrote after his biggest hit.

I enjoyed this fun vid anyhow. :o)

Just read the first Gary Gilmore's post. Quite a shock! :o

The best things about this song apart from the obvious (like it gave TV a well deserved hit and it gave us Gaye on TOTP on her 21st birthday looking......... sorry got carried away  ) is that it is how I first 'came into contact' with TV Smith. I sang along to the song as TV pushed the mike in my face at an Adverts gig. I patted him on the head as I sang along. An act I now reserve just for Shady the Wonderdog  That was a few years ago, but I would't mind sharing the mic with TV again one day 8O

Blimey slightly more TUT's than normal for this version - is that Uli with a flag?!:

Is this from the current Die Toten Hosen tour?

It says 27 Nov 2008, so it must be from the current tour!! (And TV played two shows in Leipzig around the same time, so it fits. Btw, I'm rather shocked no one reported from these gigs and none of the Hosen fans told us about this guest appearance...) Thanks Alan for finding this!

And no it's not me. I'm not a fan of flags and I haven't seen DTH since 1992 (London, Marquee).  :-[
It was a great show back then (Learning English tour, feat. guest appearances by Charlie Harper, Knox, Wreckless Eric and Arturo). Their German shows are mostly sold out before I even think about going...
Just around the corner and miles away...
