If only I could catch a last minute flight, I'd be there :!:

Just Back From The Astoria

Excellent gig in London yeserday. I arrived in time for The Vibrators who played a great set (they did some different 'old' songs too, like Bad Time, and 24 Hour People). Then came Chelsea- all old stuff apart from 1 song I didn't recognise. I enjoyed seeing them again but October is still as irritating as he always was. 999 were as good as usual. They always go down a storm at these gigs, and did so again. Missed the Subs but was back to see TV, who was great of course and went down very well. Shame he was only allowed 20 minutes.

Set list;
No Time To Be21/Not In My Name/New Church/Lords Prayer/Poem/Gary Gilmore's Eyes/Xmas Bloody Xmas/One Chord Wonders

Next on were The Avengers (who were The Pistol's support band at Winterland). This was their first UK tour so no one knew what to expect, and they stole the show with a brilliant set. Make sure you see them if they ever come back. The pub seemed a better option than Hazel O' Connor (no proper beer in the venue), but I caught the first half of Sham 69 before I had to go for my train. They were very disappointing, the guitar sounded awful and the new stuff (or the stuff I wasn't familiar with) was crap. Obviously I didn't get to see the Damned, but if they were as bad they were the last time I saw them I'm not fussed. I had a quick chat with TV, who told me the Sunderland and Newcastle gigs went very well, particularly Newcastle. Hope to see some of you in Leeds tonight. Can't wait.

My god we're getting old after 6 hours we were ready for bed, too hot, too cold legs ached etc...   8O
Like GJ we toodled off to the pub at various points through the day, for a decent drink and a sit down  :oops:
Our day was as follows:
Got wristband said Hi to a couple of people including Mr Fish and went to the pub, then got back for a couple of a couple of Splodge songs  :D
Watched the full Vibrators set (I want to burn Knox's baseball cap it's yuk)
Then off to the pub and a bite to eat  :)
The back for the full UK Subs set - they didn't dissapoint  8)
Then it was TV only a short set but great all the same, thought Xmas Bloody Xmas was a blinder  8)
Caught a couple of Avengers songs and decided this was the best point to go to the pub, got a coffe enroute this time (ahhh cafffine)  8)
Back for remainder of Hazel O'Conners set that was o.k  :)
Then Sham 69 a bit of a sing a long at the end of the set somewhat redeemed them  :)
Then The Damned - I have to say it certaily wasn't their best performance, seemed to be a lot of indulgent instrumentals  :?
We left at 23.00 trains and all that  :?

Thanks for the review Mrs F., seems like I did not miss too much for not making the journey (I guess I'll miss more today by not being in Leeds)...
