Wasted Long Weekend
« Reply #136 on: August 23, 2006, 12:47:20 PM »
Greetings! - sorry for being quiet (yes, not like me!), just lots of IT issues!

This was the first time we did all four days, and it was a joy.

Many thanks, as ever, to Alan and Chris for their consideration and excellent company. Also great to meet up with the regularly Wasted TUTS - and fantastic to see some more there for the "final" festival - Punky Pete has already been on to see if anyone knows anything about next year! Jock - how are your contacts working mate? Heard anything???
TV SM!TH - for the beer and the company!

Cheers guys!

Hmmm...

How do you make it different?

You could call it Blackpoolbound and have four days of support acts for TV!!!

Call it the 'Tribal Gatherings' and have a 'punk stage', a 'Goth stage', an 'indie stage', and a 'Mod / Ska stage'.........

Tribal Trouble?
« Reply #144 on: August 24, 2006, 11:18:26 AM »
Would these tribes coming together cause a little "friction"?

I remember that the original plan for Wasted was to bring in mods, rude boys, etc. - didn't work though.

Captain Calling
« Reply #145 on: August 24, 2006, 08:29:32 PM »
Fred - possibly! But worth a try!

Separately I see the Captain was taken with TV's set in his blog he says:

"Watched TV Smith do his acoustic set - the songs about Bush / Blair hit the nail on the head..... and I was convinced more than ever that punk still has power as a protest movement against these evil liars and their supporters in the media. In fact the ONLY journo I can think of in the UK presently talking sense is Robert Fisk of the Independant."

Songs about Bush and Blair - from Crossing the Red Sea???!!!

That's as bad as the guy near me who asked his mate if one song from TV's set was new!
