Wow! Great set Teev. :D

I honestly didn't expect it to be that good. I expected more of a repeat of Elland. I should have guessed based on last years epic that TV would go for it Any Way!

Looks like I missed quite a few that I'd never heard before...

Top Ten
Ship in a Bottle  8O Damn!
The Wedding Dress  8O Damn!
Clone Town  8O Double Damn! That sounds like a new one!
Male Assault
Fate of Criminals

Yep! That does it next year we have a bigger gap between EARTHBOUND's and C5, Smit and me are back in Essen.  :D

Nice to see The Servant in the encore. :D

It sounds like you all had a fantastic time. :D Sorry I missed your second call Klaus.

Yep, you UK TUTS were definitely there in spirit - and on the screen!  :D
Good to have a few Channel 5 songs as a flashback of last year.

Highlights for me were:
Let Em Go
Ship in a bottle
Looking Down on London  (just having returned from there)
I Wish I Could See Clearly
Strong Horse
Male Assault
Earth 2

and especially Carrying On!
I was singing/screaming along very loudly to that one...

Great to meet all the TUTS, like Viola and Dirk and Klaus and Gabumon and René and MAKO and Pamp and RancidTom and Steffi and Antje and Alex and all those I can't think of at the moment.  :D

Just want to add my thanks to everyone for those Earthbound gigs. It was a real pleasure to play for you, and great for me to get the chance to try out some of those rare songs knowing that I was among friends! Those gigs were very special to me and I really appreciate the work many of you TUTS put into helping to organise and promote them, and the long distances many of you had to travel to attend. It really was a couple of weeks that I'll never forget (despite the Exploring Madness...never was a beer more aptly named!)
Best wishes,
TV

Earthbound gigs!
« Reply #87 on: September 21, 2006, 12:20:41 AM »
Well I'd like to thank everyone who helped organise, and especially TV of course.
I had a brilliant time meeting new people, drinking new beer, travelling, and listening to great music. What more could I ask from a holiday?
I'm trying to organise my photos to paste them into galleries for you all to see, I have quite a few rather good ones (well I think so). At present half of them are in my laptop, and half are in the benchtop (work computer), and the two computers are being arsey about talking to each other. Hope to resolve this soon, and stick two fingers up at Bill Gates.
I loved tha gig at E&S brewery, (I thought the sound was going to be terrible but it worked out very well and was pretty damn good quality after all!) aided by the fact that "Exploring Madness" was a pint with few peers! Although Dave did introduce a few other brews for sampling too, I personally liked "Exploring Madness" best.
The Doncaster and Leeds gigs both had good attendances and sound. I was impressed with the Richard Strange stuff which I'd never before heard (which was most of it!), and Stoner playing with TV was absolutely brill too. I'm in danger of running out of superlatives soon, so I might repeat myself...
On to Essen, and a gig at a coal mine! Now again I had reservations as to how good the sound might be, but it turned out to be excellent again. I'll confess to missing the first 30 seconds or so of TV's set as Klaus, myself and one or two others were drinking beer in the car park, but we soon realised our error and legged it inside double quick! Another cracking performance from TV, and great to see Vom and Pascal on stage (possibly my favourite rendition ever of "Big Fish") obviously enjoying themselves too. After the set we stayed around and watched "The Boys", then back to Anyway for a few more beers, schnapps, tequilas and erm, I forgot how many in total, but that's not surprising!   until it was time for everyone to go home. Yes even I needed some sleep...
So, back again the following night to Anyway for the E5G gig. As you've already read the setlist you know how brilliant it was, even though the stage was little bigger than two telephone boxes it worked just right, an excellent crowd, atmosphere, beer, schnapps, and music too. More songs I'd never heard live, and at least one I'd never heard before. Thanks go to Klaus for organising the commemorative mugs.
It looks as if I have to work a few nights to cover for other peoples holidays now I'm back with my nose to the grindstone, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't get in the way of seeing a few of the DMW gigs, alas though the 100 club gigs look out of the question, unless I throw a sicknote at the boss, he'd no doubt sack me!
Dim spark.

Good that someone mentioned these mugs, as I'd forgotten to do so...
