So TUTS what will happen next year regarding our annual gatherings?

C5 has already said that he wants to organise EARTHBOUND 6 England (not sure if that will be at Elland Brewery again or at another location in the North West).

Are we planning to have the Germany event in Essen again?

I suggest that next year it would be a good idea to have a healthy gap between the two gigs, so that more of us can attend. The turn out this year broke my heart...

Even more so, when I didn't make Essen myself.

Any thoughts TV and the TUTS?

EARTHBOUND 6 In 2007

i think we should have 1 month or two between the Earthbound E and G, 2 earthbound in a single week is very heavy..

there is no problem to have 2 or 3 gigs in a country, but have 3 in one and 2 in the other is very difficult in a short time, i mean i see TV 6 Times in September, thats to much for me  8O

so i think we should have a break between the 2 Earthbounds

and i do both next year too  :D

And don't forget every rehearsal too.

It must cost you a small fortune Gabumon.

I look forward to seeing you at both gigs next year. And no TUTS I don't think we should try and have six EARTHBOUND gigs.  :P

So where abouts are you thinking of having the UK EARTHBOUND C5?

Sadly TV made it very clear to me (as he thinks it was me working on this re-union idea and not you) that The Explorers will never all perform together again. A very similar stance to The Adverts I'm afraid.

Of course he once told us that he would never play Cast Of Thousands, Walk Away or The Revolutions The Same live on stage.

I was thinking more of an EARTHBOUND rare songs TUTS gig like at Bogarts in Peterborough, Essen and Elland Brewery.

Just thinking... Was The Explorers in Germany tour a pun, as that is where they split up?

whats about a Sleaze Reunion?

i think its not a good idea to do a reunion, with guest ok, but a reunion is very complicated, all songs must be learned new etc..

I think it is okay to dare to dream pretty much anything C5. Just please be aware about how much work and persuasion would need to go in to pulling off a gig like that, especially after TV very strongly pointed out to me that it is not going to happen. Some of the others would definately be up for it, TV is definately not.

I believe Stoner would have great concern about the number of practice sessions required and the cost implications of that. Colin lives in the South West whilst many of the others live in London. Stoner and TV are both perfectionists. If they were doing this they would what it to be spot on. The amount of planning and preperation and practicing would take about six months. I know because I lost two months out of my business working on the two Exploring Madness gigs.

My advice is have a first crack at EARTHBOUND 6E. The brewery gig with it's limited attendance was miles easier to organise.

It's up to you though it's your dream. I'm just trying to make sure you appreciate the size of it, I would hate to see you, and those others whose hopes are built up, dissapointed.

Evenin' all.
Just to make it clear - the reason I wouldn't want to do it is not because I wouldn't enjoy the experience. It's just that the time and energy that goes into reliving the past is at the expense of moving forwards...that's a compromise that seriously needs considering...
Cheers,

TV

And of course we would really enjoy watching it Teev, but if it was hard work for me organising and marketing it, how hard was it for you learning all those songs with different musicians? Big thanks to you, Stoner and Dik for that. :D

As you say it's time and energy.

If 'I Can See Clearly', 'See Through' and 'The Arms Of The Enemy' are anything to go by "moving forwards" sounds good to me.

But I'll always be a bit nostalgic about your first true purple patch - The GREAT Explorers. 8)

...There that should wind up a few Adverts fans.
