You asked where to best post the TV, Kid and Stoner photo that inspired the Exploring Madness gigs I arranged in September 2006 Uli.

This is the place.

Thank you.  :)

Thanks Uli.

That photo inspired me to dare to dream.

Then to live the dream.

To reform The Explorers and Doctors of Madness trio and sing live on stage with both bands (and co-brew the Elland Exploring Madness beer with Dave Sanders and Smit - who now also lives the dream by buying his favourite brewery).

Thank you "TV Smith, A Legend" Richard Kid Strange (my favourite all time singersongwriters)

And Colin Stoner (my favourite all time bass guitar player).

Dare to dream TUTS.

...Or are you "Just Exploring Madness". No Limits.

"My dear Friend

Will you be kind enough to have a look at this Kickstarter project, http://t.co/Yt8unCEmVw and support it as best you can - not least because one of the elements we will featuring will be a reprise of Tom Waits's "November", from Black Rider, with the wonderful original musicians David Coulter, Kate St John, Terry Edwards all onboard.

Also I shall be reuniting a little band I had in the mid-seventies, for a one-off gig - their first together for 36 years!

Whatever support you can give will be hugely appreciated, and will go towards making sure that this ambitious enterprise succeeds in bringing Burroughs's work to a whole new generation of musicians and performers.

Many thanks my dear friend.

Much Love to you.

Richard Strange."

If the main event is only 20 minutes, I guess there must be other performances to fill the evening. He says that The Doctors might be involved in the video...

TV will play any gig he can get, as we all know.

not sure if it will be all the original line up. Most likely it will be the final line up in October 1978.

I pray Urban Blitz will be part of the reunion.

He made the most beautiful sound I ever heard.

Sounds likely that Pete Dilemma will be on drums.

Except that the Doctors haven't played together for 36 years.

No repeat.

What a wonderful day. Even the weather forecast flipped from thunder and rain to glorious sunshine.

I hope everyone is okay with me moving the posts about The Doctors of Madness into World Chat.

I hope that's okay Uli.

I'll keep everyone in The TUTS and The AfterGlow (The Doctors of Madness fan club and forum) updated here.

This is a dream becoming true that even I didn't dare to dream.

Heaven sent.

Thanks Fred.

The first big question to ask Richard 'Kid' Strange (the lead singer and songwriter from The Doctors of Madness) is which line up will be reforming.

There were three line ups and they all included...

Richard 'Kid' Strange (vocals and guitar)
Stoner (bass)
Pete Dilemma (drums)

They were the first three members and the final three members who played the final show in October 1978.

All the three glorious albums featured Urban Blitz on electric violin and guitars.

After Urban Blitz left the band he was briefly replaced by Dave Vanian on joint lead vocals.

The only other three people to ever share lead vocals with at least two Doctors of Madness were TV Smith, Twiggy and Tj Sundown.

The dream is for the reunion line up to include Urban Blitz.

Fingers firmly crossed.

You might wanna start practising violin, just in case...  ;)

I'm not quite sure, as it includes so many posts about TV (and the gigs they did together)... also there is still the other topic about the reunion (started by Fred).
We could keep this one in TV section, while updating on the new topic (and big important updates, like TV joining in, being mentioned in the other one too)...?  :-\

The best place for any detailed consideration is clearly on The Doctors of Madness forum - unless or until TV gets involved!

Ahem, Mr Smith, Sir. Have you been asked to brush up on any late '70's songs you co-wrote recently? Go on, you can tell us TUTS...

World Chat was created to post about other bands.

I have kick started The Doctors of Madness forum to talk about the reunion.

Great stuff. I often talk about other bands that might be of interest to those of a TV-esque persuasion and I'm sure all the Doctors fans will have great fun on there!

World Chat was created to post about other bands.

Yes, it was. But here we have 25+ pages about a band TV had a 'strange' connection with...  ;)

(When re-reading the first page, though, I got to admit it fits World Chat best.)

Thus, my idea would've been to keep the topics where they were and updating the (new) reunion thread (and in case TV would be asked to join in, it still could be moved). But never mind, as you're the main contributor to both topics, let's leave them as they are.

(As long as the topic about TV & Strange & Stoner EB gig(s) is still where it belongs, in "TV Live", I'd say.)

I have kick started The Doctors of Madness forum to talk about the reunion.

Yes, you did, with this post copied into here?
