IN THE ARMS OF MY ENEMY ( LP2008 )
« on: October 08, 2007, 06:48:57 PM »
Well TUTS it got a lot of mentions in Germany and now on the forum, so I have to ask the big question...

What songs will be on TV's next ground-breaking album?

What will it be called?

What will it sound like?

Will we own a copy by the end of next year?

All we know is that to date every album has been daring and different. 8)

So my guess is don't expect Misinformation Overload part 2. ;)

Here are some of the favourite runners for the new album...

Weak Glue
See Through
Arms Of My Enemy
I Wish I Could See Clearly
Clone Town
Backstage Bob
Get In Now
Together Alone
It's Warming Up

Apologies if any of the last three songs titles are wrong.

My current favourites are...

Backstage Bob
I Wish I Could See Clearly
See Through

and of course

It's Warming Up (ya da yada, ya da yay)

Eight of the nine songs were piloted at EARTHBOUND's. :o :D

As was the single from the last album.  :D

...And the single before that.  :D

What will it be called?

I think the working title is "No idea"...  ;)

What will it sound like?

My guess is it will be closer to "Not a bad day" in sound, just simply because both Tim Cross and Tim Renwick are involved once again...  :)

Will we own a copy by the end of next year?

YES, I do believe so. I asked TV if it might be 2009 for the album's release, but he said no, he plans to get it out next year!!!  :D
I can also tell you that a certain someone who was the DJ in Duesseldorf on Sept 29th has laid down some drum tracks in the days after Earthbound Germany (early October)! TV told me they'd been practising a bit (not with a drumkit though) until the early hours right after the guy's DJ spot (for him to get a feeling for the tracks)...
Just around the corner and miles away...

Klaus is right TV just corrected Gabumon's original guess the first of the three new songs was called Get It Now.. :D

That's a great album Gabumon, but one too many tracks for me so let's drop Spy On The Line. ;)

Onto Uli's insights into the next album...

Ah! Another first on the forum. Uli says it will be anothet two Tim's album and as we are at a Vom disco I think we can giess the drummer. :D

This is getting better by the minute. Now all we need to do to complete the perfect band is to pay for a flight over for Stoner, or BBQ or Gaye. ;)

I'd love to hear something really melodic... like a cross between the sound at the start of Not A Bad Day (and the whole of Swimming In The Flood) on Not A Bad Day and The Lion And The Lamb on March Of The Giants. :D

Ah! Uli has also guessed the drummer. :D

...and confirmed the date as target 2008. :D

Thank you Uli. Your are a goldmine of information. :D

I thought Misinformation Overload had a great cover - As witnessed on Steffi's amazing handmade t-sirt. I wonder what will be on the cover of the 2008 album?

To guess the guitarist isn't very hard either...

Are you talking about Tim or another guitarist Klaus? Jami Sleaze made the Good times Are Back single really fly! 8)

Or do you mean the bass guitarist is Happi Mueller again?

Oops, missed that part of Uli's post.
I was talking about Tim Renwick.
So nothing new for you guys.

Actually IMHO Jami Sleaze's guitar play on 'Good Times Are Back' is very fitting for that song but nothing in compare to
the unbelievable skills of Tim Renwick.

I heard a few notes of the rough mixes for the new album and it blew me away.
Makes the waiting even harder.

Renwick's amazing. No wonder it was such a task for Tim's replacement in David Bowie's band. Fortnuately my favourite guitarist in the World was up for it, but as he's not around anymore Tim Renwick is the very next best thing. :D

Hmm first TV creates a C5 song, then a dream C5 EARTHBOUND gig and now a Three Tim's album. The Great Man really is making The Great Mr's dreams come true. :D

Well, chatting to TV at Earthbound Essen has helped me a lot in getting some information about his next album...  :)

Who is this, if I may ask?

I heard a few notes of the rough mixes for the new album and it blew me away.

Grrrr, I didn't hear a single note yet...  >:(
Well, I'll just have to wait.  8)

How about some cover versions? I'd love to hear TV Smith sings "The Jungle Book".
