Bearing the following story in mind, I wonder how much TJ is paying TV?

"Rolling Stones named highest earners

The Rolling Stones have been named the highest-paid private performers.

The band, fronted by Sir Mick Jagger, command a staggering £3.5 million per private performance, a new book has revealed.

Author Imogen Edward-Jones made the staggering discovery while researching her new tome 'Pop Babylon', and the figure dwarfs the sums being paid to other artists.

Sir Elton John, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart and Amy Winehouse can all command up to £1 million for a private concert, while Janet Jackson and the Pussycat Dolls charge £500,000 per show.

The list is rounded off by Sting, the Sugababes and All Saints who all charge £250,000 and Girls Aloud who expect to pocket £200,000 to play at parties.

Imogen writes: "No wonder the market is expanding rapidly with indie acts and young pop stars offering themselves up to the highest bidder.

"Even old favourites such as Rick Astley and the Human League have dusted themselves off and are available for weddings and bar mitzvahs. So no matter how big or small your budget, there appears to be a band to suit you."

'Pop Babylon' by Imogen Edwards-Jones, list of highest-paid private performers:

Rolling Stones - £3.5million
Sir Elton John - £1million
Robbie Williams - £1million
Rod Stewart - £1million
Amy Winehouse - £1million
Janet Jackson - £500,000
Pussycat Dolls - £500,000
Sting - £250,000
Sugababes - £250,000
All Saints - £250,000
Girls Aloud - £200,000"

Not quite the response I was hoping for, but at least it's a response. :-*

Wondering why it's the TV & Tj Tim's Guiding Starlight show?

Allow me to shine a light...

Saturday, 9th September

“When things go wrong you feel less powerful. We don't know what we want, we want some kind of light to see where we are going and we want to know what we should do and that's what's so difficult to find. Everyone is wishing, but they don't know what to wish for because they are confused by what they see.

I have one wish too and it's I Wish I Could See Clearly.”

TV Smith, Elland Brewery EARTHBOUND

See Through

The light you need to find your way through when you are surrounded in darkness is actually the light you find yourself. I think I'm together with Tj when I say that that light is the one that comes from within you and not the one they try and point at you to blind you. When you actually look with the real light at what's going on in The World you find that it's actually very easy to see what's going on.

This new song is called See Through.”

Well I too have to pass on apologies for not being able to make it, myself and Second Class Citizen are regrettably unable to attend.
Have a great gig one and all, and we'll get along to the very next one we can in the hopefully not too distant future.
Happy birthday, and make sure you drink responsibly! (Finish every pint you start!)

Really sorry you can't make it Rancid and Fred.

Now with one week to go what I can tell you is there are between 60 and 90 people going. :-\

I've got to order the food soon. So I'm going to be optimistic and go for 80.

Boy is this making sorting out EARTHBOUND Elland feel easy peasy or what? ;D ;D ;D

The good news is that if a miracle happens that resolves Fred, Uli, John, Rancid and Second Class's reasons for not being able to make it, they'll still be room for them on the night. :)

You'll be there in spirit if not TUTS. :)

Cheers TJ.

Yep, I'd certainly have some spirits - and look on the bright side - you would have to order food for 100 if I was coming!

Sorry Tj, I definitely won't be able to attend, but here's some birthday congratulations to speed the party along! Second Class Citizen also sends regrets, as to not being able to attend, but we both send hugs and kisses (where appropriate!) to all who do attend. Sometime later this year when finances and circumstances improve we'll see you all again.
I hereby appoint Mr & Mrs Fleagle as responsible persons who shall be held unaccountable for anybody else's actions involving guitars, beer and general enjoyment for the course of the evening. However if a case of "Runaway Train Conga" occurs prime suspect as the instigator will indeed be Mr Fleagle!
All the best to all who manage to attend, and commiserations to those who, like us, can't. Have a great one, and we'll see you as soon as we can.

Sounds like someone sent you a "replacement" instead of the real Klaus...  ;)

Anyway, have fun tomorrow all you TUTS and enjoy the ballads!
