I haven't watch it yet but....

I forgot to check the post box this morning and there's a note from the Post Office saying that my 9 CD set of early Mike Leigh has arrived and there's import tax to pay! But tomorrow's Sunday so I've got to wait until Monday to collect. Bugger! Bugger, bugger, bugger!

I love Mike Leigh's stuff and 8 of the 9 DVD's have stuff I haven't EVER seen. Bugger!

Shine a light (Stones concert movie by Scorsese)...
Liked it, though it's not a typical Stones gig (in a theatre, not a stadium as usual). The soundmix is great, you can really hear who's playing which guitar part (which is sometimes difficult at these gigs when the sound is a bit muddy).

Did anyone see the new Indiana Jones movie?

Also, I read about "the Eye" (a remake apparently), the general theme seems to be an operation giving the person eyesight back. (Now what song does this remind me of? Sadly it's probably not on the soundtrack.)

Just watched the documentary 'LIFE AFTER MAN' about the way nature will reassert itself once we've all died off.
One hundred thousand years after man dies out (the equivalent of about 30 seconds in the relative history of the world) the only remaining man made objects that will be recognisable will be parts of the Great Wall of China and four unknown carved faces in granite at Mount Rushmore.

Made me think. If all the evidence of a society can disappear so absolutely totally...were there civilisations before ours? It's actually possible we've destroyed ourselves several times before. Atlantis anyone? ;D

And now I'm going to watch my new DVD of The Stranglers gig at The Roundhouse last year.

Gandhi.

At times I felt ashamed to be British and then mixed religion took over and proved far from nirvana.

I feel that Gandhi got it right here...

Quote
When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it--always.

Mahatma Gandhi

We always have a choice my friends. To move in the direction of love and truth or in the direction of fear and hate.

Just watched ALL of 'Charlie Jade' which I missed the first time. All 20 episodes one after the other.
I loved it. Shades of 'Bladerunner'.

How nobody has commissioned a 2nd series is a mystery to me. :(

And I've just watched Joss Whedon's 'Doctor Horrible's Singalong Blog' on DVD. A very entertaing musical from the man who brought us 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'.
And the DVD commentary is all in song too. ;D

You may be in luck: "Scripts for the second season of Charlie Jade have been written; however, the show has not yet been greenlit for a second season.".........

Just watched 'Inception' and can't see what all the fuss was about. It's a good film but all the hype about it being 'difficult to understand' was rubbish. If you pay attention the plot is quite straight forward.

Tonight I am staying up all night so I've got Django, The Wild Bunch and Dawn Of The Dead ready by the DVD. ;D
