No, it is Bobby (not to be confused with BoB, who is a an "evil spirit"... there always has been a theme of "duality" in TWIN Peaks).

You don't know what you've missed. The pilot alone was a landmark piece of tv back in 1990/91.

Last night I watched the very 'downbeat' final ever episode of 'Ripper Street'.
It ended with bells ringing out for New Year 1900.

As 'Murdoch Mysteries' is now up to 1905 I suppose Detective Inspector Reid could have a guest spot on that...  ;D

Next I want to watch "Loving" (which at first I didn't consider, but when I heard it's from director Jeff Nichols, I thought I must see it, as I've enjoyed all of his movies so far - Mud, Take Shelter & Midnight Special)!

"Loving" was okay, not exactly spectacular though...  :-\

"Baby Driver" should be up next, or maybe something else, will see.  8)

Last night watched 'Trumbo' on Netflix.

It's the story of Donald Trumbo, a screenwriter who was 'black listed' for Communism during the McCarthy and Hoover era of the 'House Un-American Activities Committee' in the US Congress.

He did time (11 months) for contempt but then went on to 'ghost write' and his scripts won Oscars even though his name wasn't on them at the time. He also started a 'cartel' of other black-listed writers who wrote the scripts for the many, low-budget films by the successful King Brothers Productions (including 'Dillinger' and 'Gorgo').

I thought the film was excellent despite being criticized, in some quarters, for historical inaccuracies and mis-portrayals of people and events. However, actual historic interviews and film clips show that most of the people who claimed NOT to have taken no part in the 'witch hunt' actually DID take part in order to save their own careers. John Wayne and Ronald Reagan come across as pricks and I think that's pretty accurate myself. Edward G. Robinson appears to have been a sad dupe. Kirk Douglas comes out of it looking like a real life hero of the people.

Donald Trumbo wrote the scripts for, amongst many others;
'Roman Holiday' (Oscars including script)
'From The Earth To The Moon' (the only film adaptation of the Jules Verne science fiction novel of the same name)
'The Brave One' (Oscar for script)
'Sparticus' (Oscars including script)
'Exodus' (Oscar nominated but only the music won)
'Town Without Pity'
'The Sandpiper'
'Johnny Got His Gun' (also directed and see the video for Metallica's 'One'...)
....and finally 'Papillon'.

Bryan Cranston received numerous award nominations for his portrayal of Trumbo, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Try it, you may like it - the video I mean, not the fluff.

Talking of fluff, if you do watch it, I think you'll find the script to be 100% pure fluff. It's rather bizarre as it does have a start and an end, but nothing in the middle - rather like Notts last night!

Not for the first time: "This video is not available "  ::)

"Baby Driver" was very good, I liked how many of the scenes seemed to be "scripted" around the songs...  8)

Yes, while I liked #1-#8, I gotta say it picked up some pace since #9 and different storylines seem to run towards a peak (which will happen in the town of Twin Peaks!)...

I just loved it when they went into the woods to do some research.

Sadly, only two more to go  :(

There is some fear in letting go...

(Spoiler warning, do not read the whole interview before viewing the "finale"!)

Quote
...to see them come into my home every week was really nice. It was really a pleasure to me. I'm going to miss that. And I just love what David Lynch creates. It's unlike anything that's out there. He's an artist. He compels you to think and feel things that are not that comfortable all the time, and questioning, questioning, questioning...

He's left us with the direction to go back through and watch and absorb and take in what we've just seen again. But apart from that? I am still processing it, myself. I'm still processing what I saw. I know I filmed it. I filmed it a long time ago, actually. But I had no idea how it was going to fall into the context of everything. I'm still reeling.

Well, good art asks questions, you know? It doesn't always provide answers. I think that's what we're experiencing right now. (Laughs.) It's not always the most comfortable or the most satisfying feeling. It's also asking us to consider what we've just seen. That's how I'm looking at it.

Finished 'Twin Peaks'. Just as batshit crazy as I'd hoped.
Also (finally) watched Season 3 of 'Deadwood'. I hope the 2 HBO TV movies get the go ahead to finish the story.
Started watching 'Ray Donovan' and we're kind of hooked on that.
