I enjoyed "Hunters" too. It is a bit loopy at times - especially the fake tv spots/shows/adverts - so you can see why it caused some upset. Given that, and the ending (no spoilers here GJ!), I wonder if it will get a second series?
TV SM!TH - for the beer and the company! (AND great songs too!)

"The Hunter" was a good film, I enjoyed that one:

Another recommendation for those who might not've seen it yet ("Baby Driver"):

Today I want to recommend the movies of director Jeff Nichols.

Especially "Take Shelter" and "Midnight Special" are good movies in my humble opinion!

Guess I'll have to watch this at some point (or maybe read the book first?)...

Quote
When “Annihilation” was released in February 2018, “The Shimmer” felt like some kind of metaphorical fugue state — equal parts “Stalker” and Lovecraft. Watching the film today, it’s impossible not to engage with it in more literal terms; the Shimmer now seems less like an imaginary space than it does a soap-bubble snow globe of the world as we know it: a place where time is confused, and the days melt together or evaporate (“all other lives feel like a lifetime ago”). Everyone is forced to confront their own private agonies even as they begin to pull apart at the seams.

At a time when the only thing scarier than being alone is the thought that we’re all a part of each other — that our lungs share the same air, and all of the things that are carried along with it — “Annihilation” reminds us that we were never really ourselves to begin with, and confronting the reality of this crisis is the only way to guarantee that we’ll be able to recognize ourselves when it’s over. Self-destruction may be programmed into our cells, but annihilation doesn’t have to be.

Despite having time to catch up with all the new stuff I've missed I find myself re-watching old favourites instead.

I guess it's like 'comfort food' for the eyes.

Hey Fred. Hope you're well. ;)

Fine thanks - you both alright?

I worked my way through all of the "The Purge" movies and TV Series and LOVED the most recent series of "The Last Kingdom" and - this may be controversial - I thought the most recent "Westworld" series was great! Far superior to that dull second series; I only stuck with that one through some form of misguided loyalty.

I was 3 episodes into Series 3 of 'Westworld' and they deleted it.

Quote
Our morning routines have changed. More energetic types may have been bouncing out of bed for a virtual PE lesson, and domestic deities are shuffling into the kitchen to inspect their sourdough starters. Me, I’ve been waking up each morning to check yesterday’s weather in Los Angeles.

In mid-May David Lynch activated a YouTube channel (David Lynch Theater) for the express purpose, it seems, of keeping Angelenos up to date with the local weather forecast. It’s the revival of an old habit: he used his website for the same purpose back in the early 2000s. In clips just a few seconds long, the director, artist, musician and now YouTuber can be seen seated at his desk, with curls of steam rising from his coffee cup, delivering a weather forecast (in fahrenheit and celsius), pausing only to turn his head and gaze out of the window, as he assesses the stage of the morning cloud formation. True to form, his forecasts are generally optimistic. The clouds will burn away, the mercury will rise and there will be “sunshine all the way”. He concludes with a salute, and the instruction to “have a great day”.

"Peaky Blinders" Season 5 (it wasn't much fun on arte with the German synchro, thus I'm watching original language)!  8)
