Not a huge fan of Neil Young but there is something about 'Powderfinger' that I find exceptionally compelling. Great tune.

Yeah, I like that one too. While I hope the setlist will change a bit, maybe they'll keep that one for their gig in Ulm in July 2014...
(wouldn't have expected to see them again so soon after last year's gig)!

From Neil Young HQ:
Quote
False Rumours: Neil Young and Jack White are not doing a record of duets as has been erroneously posted on various outlets. We are certain those rumours have no basis in truth.

Plus an article about the recent tour:

More detail on this:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2014/03/12/289435279/hear-neil-young-explain-his-pono-music-player-at-sxsw

Quote
Right now, most portable players are capable of playing music at about the quality of a CD. In his talk at SXSW, Young pointed out again and again that when music is originally captured in studios, the quality of that recording can be better than a CD. Pono is built around the idea that whatever sound the musician records will be played back on the device without any manipulation.

Also, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will play in Ulm (open air @ Muensterplatz) tonight. As it's just a year ago since I saw them in Stuttgart, I'm not overly motivated to go, but I guess I will try (unless the expected thunderstorms & heavy rain will ruin it)...  :-\
(In 2013, it had been 17 years since the last time I'd seen them.)

All went well, no rain... Great setlist, incl. "Cortez The Killer" and some other surprises!  8)

Probably inspired by "Earthbound", NY includes some "rarities" in his sets...  ;)
