See you Thursday Jock!

In the meantime, did you know:

The Sex Pistols demanded a bone china tea set and their own fenced-off toilet at Live At Loch Lomond over the weekend. Singer Johnny Rotten later got in a "kerfuffle" with electro act Autokratz over transport. The band's singer David Cox said: "The Pistols had a Land Rover to ferry them around the site but Johnny seemed to prefer our car" (Daily Star).

If its in the Daily Star it must be true!

Yeah, that's sad but typical... The only festival where I can understand that is a free festival, where they pay the bands with the money they make through sales of food & drink.

If its in the Daily Star it must be true!

Oh yeah...
What is a "kerfuffle" btw?
Just around the corner and miles away...

Blimey now he's advertising butter....

Former Sex Pistols singer John Lydon is now advertising butter - in stark contrast to his punk rock days when he proclaimed: "I am an antichrist, I am an anarchist."
Decked out in an English gentleman-style tweed outfit, Lydon - whose used the stage name Johnny Rotten - features in adverts for Country Life butter which will hit screens in October.

As part of his first television advertising campaign, Lydon gallivants around various British locations as he tries to decide why he thinks Country Life butter is his favourite brand.

The advert concludes, "It's not about Great Britain, it's about great butter", and will first be screened during the ITV Pride of Britain Awards next month.

Lydon and the Sex Pistols gained acclaim for their aggressive and nihilistic attitude on and off stage.

In 1977, they released God Save the Queen during the week of Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee.

The song was a hit but caused so much controversy for its criticism of the monarch that Lydon was once attacked by an angry mob in the streets.

The origins of his stage name are not definite.

One explanation, given in a Daily Telegraph feature interview with Lydon last year, was "he was given the name in the mid '70s, when his neglect of oral hygiene saw his teeth turning green."

Sex Pistols' John Lydon to become face of British butter

PiL man set to appear in Country Life advert

Sex Pistols' John Lydon is set to star in an advert for British butter brand Country Life.

According to Mad.co.uk, Lydon was chosen by the brand because he is a "British icon".

The campaign is set to start soon, although exact dates of broadcast are yet to be announced.

In a statement, Country Life said: "We don't think enough people know Country Life is the only major British butter brand and John gets the message through loud and clear.

"He is seen as a great British icon. His independent views are part of his consumer appeal and his tongue-in-cheek sense of humour shines through in our TV advertising."

Great - where can I buy it?  :P  ;)

When watching the Pistols' DVD I was kinda glad to see his beer belly is bigger than mine - must be all that butter, eh?  ;D
