Verdammt, der Typ ist gut und der Typ ist so nett. Besonders live. Diese zwei CDs zeigen das. Punkrock-Ikone TV Smith spielte in Ludwigsfelde ein über zwei Stunden langes Set auf seiner Akustikgitarre und begeisterte das Publikum.
Natürlich sind es hauptsächlich die Lieder, die hier gefallen. Weil Sachen wie der Opener "No Time To Be 21", das aktuelle "Together Alone" von "In The Arms Of The Enemy", das immer wieder tolle "Not In My Name" oder Adverts-Klassiker wie "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" oder "Bored Teenagers" einfach inhaltlich stark und musikalisch toll sind. Der 52-jährige Sänger fordert und bittet, lacht dabei und ist zu jeder Zeit ein Entertainer. Einfach klasse eben. Ebenso: Diese Doppel-CD gibt es zum Niedrigpreis. Zwingend besorgen!

Excellent. Just been listening to TV Live again. There is nothing like TV Smith live to blow the cobwebs away.

I recently read that Gaye Advert was the only Advert to play every gig.

...Mind you she nearly missed the gig in the German film.

I knew TV once had to play guitar but I don't recall reading he ever missed a gig.

After the weekend, when I was on my first 2 concerts of this tour and have bought the CD I'll give it a try.

Btw, does anyone else here come to Balingen or Schwäbisch Gmünd? I'll be there with my brother and maybe some more friends, but I always like to meet new people. If all works as planned, I'm the one with the not so small camera in the first row

I started working on the translations now - listening to the live CD and writing down the text is a nice way to spend time in the train

If I find some time and Internet in the Hotel this evening I'll start a new thread and post the first of the translations. But I don't know if it'll serve to improve your german - there are some very funny sentences on the CD. As I'm sure would be if I had to do the same in english

Do you also want a translation of "Es stört mich nicht" or is there one already somewhere?

This month's 'Record Collector' magazine reviews the new live album very favourably and gives it 4 stars. I believe it's the same reviewer who also gave 'In The Arms Of My Enemy' a glowing report.
 The review is not on-line but when I get a chance I'll 'scan' the review and post it.
