Apparently Rat Scabies went to Brighton to do a bit more jamming with his old mate Brian James. A new track has appeared on his myspace ("Stinks Theme"): http://www.myspace.com/ratscabiesgrailhunterSounds pretty good to my ears.

I hope these two continue to make some music in 2010! Meanwhile, there's also hope of Rat being the subject of a TV series (I do so hope this comes true)!!! http://www.electricroulette.com/2010/01/rat-scabies-grailhunter.htmlI loved the book about his search for the Grail, so a series/DVD should be excellent!

Interview with Ratty (about his Grailhunting adventures): http://planetmondo.blogspot.com/2010/03/champion-chat-with-rat-scabies.htmlShort quote: Do you think it will ever be found? It's the journey - that's more fun than arriving.
What about Dan Brown has he been a help or hindrance to Grail hunters? He's quite good at writing crime fiction - but pretty much everything in the Dan Brown novels has already been said by someone else, Henry Lincoln etc. What's good about it is, people read it and gave them a different take - that it's good to question the physical version of events. I don't necessarily buy into the whole Da Vinci, Mary Magdalene thing - because if that is the Last Supper and that is Mary Magdalene sitting next to Christ then actually they're a disciple short..

More info about this here - if you can, support this good cause! http://www.indiegogo.com/Rat-Scabies-Grailhunter?a=39173&i=shlk"This is for punk fans, grail fans, conspiracy theorists and generally for people who like a good story told well. The series offers an entertaining and accessible angle on a well-worn subject. Watch modern day punk templar Scabies stripping myth from fact with his trademark sharp wit, intelligence and style. A humorous and very British take on a never-ending quest - or is it? Aided by various historians, scientists, grave-robbers, secret societies, amateur grailhunters and possible hoaxers Scabies explores, connects and discovers exactly what the Grail may be and where it can be found. Our end goal is to get the entire series commissioned both in UK and US. "

To be released in November is a tribute to the Pink Fairies (and Deviants), incl. a track by Scabies & James! Two of the most legendary British underground bands of the late 1960s and early 70s were without any doubt The Deviants and Pink Fairies. Scores of musicians have cited them as one of their favourite bands and key influences, yet neither enjoyed any real success during their existence. The Deviants released three albums between 1967 and 1969, before evolving into the Pink Fairies, who also released three albums between 1971 and 1973, the latter featuring Larry Wallis as front man.Rich Deakin, author of Keep It Together! Cosmic Boogie With The Deviants And The Pink Fairies has spent the best part of two years putting together an album of Deviants and Pink Fairies songs, as well as a smattering of new numbers, performed by artists who jumped at the chance to be included in this set. Although featuring luminaries of both the 60s counterculture and 70s punk scene, including current and past members of The Damned, Dead Kennedys, Faith No More, W.A.S.P., Motörhead, Hawkwind, Dr Feelgood, The Blockheads, The Only Ones, Crushed Butler, and The Deviants and the Pink Fairies themselves. It was real coup getting three of the original members of the Fairies back together for the first time in over thirty years to record a track with Brian James, a founder member of The Damned, producing. Rumours of a band reunion currently abound with the true 40th anniversary of Glastonbury Fayre being next year and some of the members having already been interviewed for a BBC TV documentary. This album will be advertised in Record Collector, Shindig!, and Vive Le Rock with reviews already guaranteed in the above magazines and most of the other British music monthlies. Some of the artists featured will also be involved in interviews about the project. A launch party for the CD will take place in London November 12th at the Inn on the Green in Ladbroke Grove with live music from the Dirty Strangers with John Sinclair, Pink FA with Nik Turner, Brian James, as well as a host of Ladbroke Grove legends, such as Mick Farren, Russell Hunter, Duncan Sandy Sanderson and Slim Tim Slide. Proceeds from both ticket sales for the launch and sales of this CD will go to David The Boss Goodman. Boss Goodman was the long suffering, much put upon Deviants and Pink Fairies road manager, who was regarded as one of the band. He was also a key figure within the London music scene for years and was a DJ and booking manager at Dingwalls Dancehall in Camden Lock from 1973 until the mid 80s. He then moved to The Town and Country Club in Kentish Town for a number of years. Up until four years ago he was working as head chef at the Portobello Gold and as a DJ at London s legendary 100 Club until he had a serious stroke. Since then he has made steady progress on the road to recovery. This CD is as much a testimonial to Boss as it is a tribute to the Deviants and Pink Fairies.
