If you order from Amazon and get the book delivered to Germany, it is 24 Euros!
Good deal, in my opinion!

Ich brauche manchmal etwas länger, sorry. :D
Das wären dann 3.- Euro günstiger ? Also gar nicht so schlecht.

Oops the pdf wouldn't copy. You'll just have to buy your own copy. ;) :-*

What I will share with you that the five songs on TV's first album are compared to Bowie's Diamond Dogs, Cockney Rebel's Psychomodo and Televisions Marquee Moon. Dave Thompson descibes Hollywood as one of the most overwhelming songs ever penned by TV Smith.

Nope. Just trying to get people to shift some product.  ;)

Sleaze is a part of TV's life story that we TUTS know the least about.

Well this side of the Slabby ones!

A studio version of "Signals" would have been nice, though... probably my second favourite Sleaze track.  Apart from the cover of "Red House," of course.

I missed Signals in my TV journey. I think I'll go back and play it tonight.

As for Your Ticket Out of Here all I can say is We Who Wait. ;)

It's arrived. The day after I read C5's TV Times treasures. :D :D :D

I've just had a flick though and it looks an ACE read.

It features the fisr meeting of the TUTS at the TV Smith and Erik Russell gig at The Verge just prior to the first EARTHBOUND at Southwick.

It even includes C5's favourite ever gig... The first EARTHBOUND in Germany aka The Channel 5 show. On Your video from this gig even had the last word of farewell as it was played as we all walked out of the church.

...C5 gets a special mention for stiring the pot in more recent times.  :D

It also includes the first Just Exploring Madness TV>Kid>Stoner gig at Doncaster featuring Two TV Smith's Explorers and Two Doctors of Madness.  8)

Can't wait to read the full story of the life and times of TV Smith. :D

It's time to get my ticket out of here. 8)

I'm loving every word reading Dave's "labour of love."  :D :D :D

I was involved with helping with the editing but some of my replies missed the deadline (sorry Dave) so here's a few updates for you TV Smith completists out there...

Raw Meat for The Missionaries (pages 36-38 / 49 - 50)

The above title for the TV Smith and Richard Strange demo's was created by Tj Sundown in this very TV Smith forum. My feet were so humbled it felt like treading on gold.

It was Last Human Being (in the World) that was played live at the final Doctors of Madness gig not Kings of the Wreckage. This is correctly reported on the review of the gig on page 49.

Dave Vanian sang the TV Smith and Richard Strange penned last Doctors of Madness single; Don't Panic England.

The Future of Gaye Advert (page 59)

Gaye has since retired from her helping others role as a manager in local government.

This book is a glorious magic carpter ride. I can't put it down...

Quote
"The Damned and The Adverts... February 14. Valentine's Day at the Roxy.

I'm still in love."

Dave Thompson (authour of TV Times and Your Ticket Out of Here and numerous other best selling books on musicians talking about his memory of seeing The Adverts for the very first time)

Quote
"It doesn't matter how good a drummer you are. It's songs and lyrics that matter and we have got a very good song and lyric writer. He's very imaginative."

Laurie Driver (The first drummer of The Adverts)

Quote
"I'm not one of Pan's People."

Gaye Advert (The bass player of The Adverts)

Quote
"I thought they were very dynamic, especially Tim's lyrics. I've always been nuts about talent. and Tim had talent. I saw that straight away."

Michael Demsey (Manager and leading light of The Adverts and TV Smith's Explorers talking about the first time he saw The Adverts at the very start of their career)

Quote
"The Adverts are very dear to my heart."

TV Smith (Poet, panther, punk, voice of the heart and legend)

...Enter the super glue because its The GREAT Explorers next and the birth of TV Times.

Let me guess... Bright red? 8)

At least you were there, Dave. I had to spend seven years trying to re-create it. :P

I've just been to heaven and back and read the section on The Explorers.

...It's brought me such clarity about my second favourite British band. 8)

80's Demo's next. Does it really get any better than this?

What's that I spot? A dedication to Dave 'C5' Allen aka Backstage Bob.

...It appears it does get even better!  :D
