Enjoy the gig Slaughterboy, would love to have gone to that one- too far away for me from Lancs though. Sure I`ll meet up with you some day and have a chat at a TV gig in the future.
Look forward to that day :)

...and so it was.

Not much of an art fan, me. Tonight was exactly the third time I've ever seen a gallery that wasn't ' Vision On'  so I'm not the most reliable of people to trust an opinion from. But...

Gaye's ceramic stuff was eye-catching, although that said, I've actually seen some of her work in that field before and am therefore a bit biased. I enjoyed Mark Mothersbaugh's pictures, Savage Pencil's poster art, Ray Gange's Clash lyric works and, unsurprisingly, all of Billy Childish's pieces. Penny Rimbaud's offerings pleased as did Robyn Hitchcock's. And all the photography got me reminiscing, especially those of TV & Gaye. But the most memorable works for me were those of Jowe Head from The Swell Maps. Don't ask me why. I couldn't tell you. They just did and that's that. Which brings me onto the ' other' artist...

TV did two short sets, interspersed with typical chat and humour over what Punk was about and how it had shaped his life and career, all completely unplugged as in no amps, mics or speakers. Went rather well, I thought:

Only One Flavour

The Future Used To Be Better
What If...
New Church
The Lord's Prayer
Generation Y
Great Brittish Mistake

Interval

In The Arms Of My Enemy
Complaints Dept
Xmas, Bloody Xmas
Gary

and off.

Pretty damn good for nothing :)

Couple of swift pints in the pub next door and that was that.

Got to ask about how Japan had gone and a few other questions, but they had to go as they both needed a bit of grub.

Looking forward to the 11th at New Cross now  :)

First night of the best of the Adverts live tour (part 2) kicked off at the Talking Heads Pub in Southampton. I must say that there was not so many people in attendance as earlier in the year when they played the Joiners & those who were there were rather subdued. This may be because of the extreme weather, the fact that it is almost xmas or that this pub is situated on the outskirts of Southampton rather than in the centre like the Joiners.
First up were a local pop band called Guilded Youth. Too Poppy for my taste. The excellent Avondale 45 were next & they rocked as usual.
Then came TV Accompanied by members of the Valentines & the Leeches. TV gave a brilliant performance & the band were spot on. The songs were the same as the previous tour but the encore was something special - full band versions of Xmas Bloody Xmas & Coming In To Land & rounding off with Cast of Thousands. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. A big thank you to all involved. Catch them if you can. We may never hear these songs performed this way again.  :)

A BLOODY GREAT NIGHT .  ;D A45 GET BETTER EVERYTIME YOU SEE 'EM. :o  TV'S SET WAS A BLOODY BLINDER.  ;) . POOR ATTENDANCE WAS PROBERLY DUE TO THE SUBS PLAYING UP THE ROAD & THE BLOODY WEATHER. ( A45 ARE PLAYING WITH THE SUBS TONIGHT IN GUILDFORD BY THE WAY. )
GREAT NIGHT , EASY TO PARK , EASY TO GET TO THE BAR , NO QUEUE FOR THE TOILETS ( THERE IS SOMETHJING TO BE SAID FOR A LOW TURNOUT ) :-\

Hope to see some of you in Leeds. Well at least TV and hopefully Ste and Lee.

Also trying to sort things out so I can make Manchester and catch up with Claret again.

I did not realise another TUT was in attendance. I was at the front wearing a black jacket and A45 shirt with my missus (long hair & jean jacket). I did not realise that UK Subs were playing on the same night. I expect some fans had to make a hard choice about who to go and see.  :)

Thanks for your reviews!

I did not realise another TUT was in attendance.

Be glad, Steve can be quite annoying, like tapping your shoulder for no reason during the gig, pushing you to dance with strangers etc.!  ;D
