What were Chelsea like?
Really good - far better than I'd been expecting. Gene was in great form and the 100 Club was about three quarters full, which is the best I've seen in quite a while. Great to see the gig so well attended :)

TV Smith and Ian Hunter.

...Sadly not on stage together.

At late notice, Penetration tonight in Surrey's own Kingston-Upon-Thames.

Apparently, I'm on the guest list. Dunno how that has happened, unless I've been mistaken for some other Slaughter. Just hope I get in before they spot the difference  ;)

Turns out I knew one of the guitarists.

And I bumped into Fleags  :)

Great gig.

Great gig tonight at the Brudenell in Leeds-the (not quite) original Sham 69. Pursey on top form along with Parsons and Tregana and we were treated to loads of old stuff- 'I Don't Wanna' 'Ulster' 'What've We Got' 'George Davis Is Innocent' 'Rip off' as well as the obvious ones. And if that wasn't enough, the excellent Chelsea were supporting and they played loads of old Fall stuff in between bands. Handpull Kirkstall beers too!

Next up: Roman Wreden at Kulturfahrschule Ulm:

He describes his music as some kind of "indie folk with a pinch of pop".

Finally saw another act other than TV last night.

Sparks swiftly reminded me why they are my all time favourite band in the world ever. 8)

Of course the Mael brothers are still in their baby 60's. :-\

...Bring on Ian Hunter on Thursday (all 72 yeras of him). :o

Next is 'The Members' French/Italian tour from 7th to 14th November.

Then I've a date to see 'Sunday Driver' and 'The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing'. My favourite two 'Steampunk' bands on the same show on 16th November.

After that it's the TV gig in Southend.

And I've just bought tickets to see The Idiot Bastard Band' (Ade Edmonson, Phill Jupitus, Neil Innes & Roland Rivron) on 2nd December in Islington.

After that it's probably a rare gig by 'Red Flag 77' in Ipswich on 21st December.

Then I'll wrap myself in newspaper and hibernate in a cardboard box 'til Spring. ;D

Not much in my diary BUT I'm seeing Frank Turner in Nottingham on the 11th November, I'm toying with the Damned in Bedford on the 4th December, and I have tickets for the 100 Club Strummer 2-dayer 22-23rd December (which includes TV of course!). Also a small possibility of catching Hazel O'Connor in Gorleston this weekend and I'm keen to catch Duncan Reid and his new band who happen to be playing with TV in November....

I went to see a Mozart concert last night..  yup really.  Others got a bit annoyed by me singing along..

Actually it was an "ensemble" known as MozART, and they come from Poland.  They play his music to a VERY different tune, sometimes playing the violins one-handed and also play each others instruments while they are holding them..

Very good and wouls dee them again..

See us TUTS can be sophisticated (what, what!)

Watched THE MAN who wrote THE tour diary Ian Hunter on Thursday night. My mate Rob who's been wacthing Hunter anf Mott The Hoople gigs with me since March 1975 thought it was Hunters best show to date.

Amazing how a re-union and a popular documentary has boosted his legend status and ticket sales.

WE WHO WAIT.

Snippets from their rehearsals were indeed quite good, Mrs F!  :)
I was going to say the drummer is crap, but even he is good.  ;D
