Sleaford Mods in Hull. Never heard anything by them and was pleasantly surprised after the first couple of songs. Big crowd.

Got tkts to see Jesus & Mary Chain playing Psychocandy at The Roundhouse in July.

Was a bit gutted not to be able to see them do the same at The Troxy last November so I'm well pleased to get to see them this time  :)

I'm going to an open day/Steampunk event at Chatham Dockyard on Sunday.
Apparently Metropolis are playing.

I saw them at an all-dayer in Ipswich last year.
Very 'Gothy' with hints of John Foxx's Ultravox! and Hawkwindy bits.
I didn't mind them.

999 were good again on Saturday in Stuttgart!
Support band Sonic Träsh was quite okay as well.
Not so nice that smoking was allowed inside the venue. Non-smoking zones were the bands' backstage room and another room behind the bar (where you'd be quite far from the stage).
Saw 999 already in 2005 and 2013. Don't think they've changed much at all!  :)

999- Carlisle. Pitiful turnout crap PA. They played OK though.
999- Edinburgh, then Aberdeen. Brilliant- best I've seen them for years and good crowds both nights. If I'd read the last chapter of TV's book earlier, I'd have known that The Moorings did good real ale and wouldn't have wasted time trying to find a decent pub.
Vibrators- Gateshead. First Vibes gig for me in over a year and good to catch up with them again. They did stuff from the fine new album.

Chelsea and Bermondsey Joyriders at the Westgarth Antisocial Club in Boro. The promoter moved all his gigs from the excellent Georgian Theatre in Stockton because the venue started to take the piss (e.g. The Sleaford Mods gig was packed-30 more than capacity. Next day they ask him for more money as the bar takings weren't high enough!). Anyway both bands were superb. Chelsea's brand new CD was on sale but they still did all he old stuff-only one new song in the encore which they did without Gene. The room where the gig was is OK but the rest of the venue is a shit hole and no beer to be had. Luckily there were 2 micro pubs nearby. Some good gigs coming up there- Neurotics, Subway Sect, TV is due there in December but there was a poster advertising him playing there on 5 July.

Was that not a poster for last year's appearance?

Well spotted- bit strange advertising last year's gigs but you're right.

The Fall in Brixton and Hastings on Friday and Saturday.

Not bad. Less shouting than in recent years and the more than slightly off-putting sight of Smith looking like he was actually enjoying himself.

Some punky new songs in the sets alongside the other more drum, bass and synth led ones.

Interesting...

Next one for us will be East Town Pirates and Underclass UK on 16th May in Ipswich.
Then it's The Membranes, The Wolfhounds and Faerground Accidents at The Lexington on 22nd May.
Edit*
And, how did I forget....Eddie & The Hot Rods (with most of the '77 line-up) on 17th June!

Then no fixed plans until August.

Last I saw was Lombego Surfers and The Nerves in Stuttgart (Kellerklub).
I'd almost forgotten how good the Lombego Surfers are live, their mix of garage rock/punk and surf instrumentals is just high energy rock'n'roll, always a pleasure.

The Nerves (support) were pretty good as well, playing mostly stuff from their newest album (as their website says "16 new punk rock songs in Japanese, English and German language!").

Next up possibly Rich Hopkins, Louise Distras, The Lurkers...
