Not too many plans for 2018 so far, but TV & BT on Feb 21st is clearly "in there".

Also, Slowdive are coming to Germany for 2 shows...

Btw, the Godfathers inform:

We're all back at home now for Xmas after a FANTASTIC European tour with The Godfathers!! ...
The gigs were all mostly great but definite favourites were Berlin, Malmo, Stuttgart & Den Haag - thanks to EVERYBODY who came out to see us perform, we certainly had a blast!! The Godfathers will return in 2018!!

My mate told me via email he's going out today to buy those Justin Bieber tickets...  :-[
Well I hope he was joking and meant Justin Sullivan (solo tour in March)!!!

Dead Boys- Sheffield last thursday. Totally brilliant. 40 minute set including all the 1st album plus 3 from the 2nd. They could have done a few more from the 2nd one and 22 was a bit steep but definitely worth it. I doubted I'd see a better gig all year.
I was wrong- Dead Boys- Newcastle last night. My first visit to the Riverside, great venue. I arrived at 8.50 just in time to see them walk on stage. Even better than Sheffield. See them if you get the chance.

Eastfield in Canterbury for me this Saturday.  Part of a Tribute weekend for a "punk promoter" who did a couple of years ago...

Dead Boys...  See them if you get the chance.

I was planning to. Whole European tour (summer 2017) was cancelled.  :(
Maybe they will come this summer?  :-\

Off to see my old mates, The Phobics, at The Birds Nest on Saturday. Even though they've sold their Punk Rock souls for advertising money:

Just back from seeing the two still playing / surviving Dead Boys (surely that wins oxymoron of the week?!). Yep, a 40 minute set and a 15 minute encore - they've been working up extra songs at sound checks apparently. Great stuff, despite an unusually 'muddy' sound for The Rescue Rooms, delivered to a decent crowd for a Wednesday night.

Only moan: they didn't play "Little Girl". This seemed a natural choice for a live setting since most folk know the song from the plethora of versions of it out there.

Anyway...

9/10.

The singer announced 'little girl' in Newcastle but Cheetah said he hated it, so they did call on you instead.

Just heard that The Bell Rays are playing at The Railway pub in Southend soon.
I'll be doing that. And maybe the other one at Camden as well.
Last time they played it was at the 02 'bowling' thing and tickets were 25 or something.
This'll be about a tenner I reckon.
Never seen them live despite buying their albums for about 20 years.

Apart from that I've got tickets for The Members, Department S, Eddie & The Hotrods, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, The Wolfhounds, The Mekons and Red Flag 77 which takes me up to about June. Also doing the TV Smith gig in Chelmsford (hopefully).

I'm sure they'll be more between June and Skegness in October.

Well that explains that then!

Cheetah was VERY happy last night.

Why?

During the encore section, during some chat between band and crowd, one young lad shouted - "I'm going to start a band because of you! Because of THIS gig! You're inspirational". It brought the house down and no fewer than three thumbs up's from Mr Chrome!

They've played in Stuttgart quite a few times, but I never bought their albums.
I was interested, but I didn't get round to seeing them until 2012, when they were supported by (local band) The Nerves!
That was a good gig! Great band.

Seaham Leisure Centre, near Sunderland; a big cavernous sports hall, too much echo but a good turnout to see 999 and The Members.
Members were OK, nothing special but they did well considering they were missing their lead guitarist. 999 with Craig Casson on drums, much better.

Victoria Vaults in York to see the mighty Godfathers who were as brilliant as usual. 1 new guitarist on this tour; catch them if you can.
