Jack Conrad, who played bass for The Doors and wrote songs for many artists, has passed away from a massive heart attack. He was 69 years old.

Conrad’s diverse musical career started in the ’60s. He recorded for the Petula Clark album I Know A Place in 1965 and started writing songs. He collaborated with Paul Williams for his albums Someday Man in 1970 and Just an Old Fashioned Love Song the next year. His big bass break came when he was asked to play on the first post-Jim Morrison albums for the Doors: Other Voices and Full Circle. While several other session bassists were featured on those albums, Conrad played on the bulk of each while joining the band on tour. He is featured on the band’s 1972 Beat Club performance, which was their first TV appearance since Jim Morrison’s death.

Fred Cole moved to Portland in the late '60s while on tour with his band the Weeds (also known as the Lollipop Shoppe). Here, he met Toody Cole and married her; the couple raised a family in Clackamas and Alaska, and formed several bands over the decades, including the Rats, Dead Moon, and Pierced Arrows. They'd most recently been performing as an acoustic duo, Fred and Toody.

I'm so sorry to have to let you know that Fred lost his battle with cancer & passed away peacefully in his sleep last night, Nov 9, 2017. Thanks you one & all for all the years & memories we all shared together, for being friends first & business partners second, so proud to be a part of your lives.
Fred had that quality of being "immortal" and I believe his songs & recordings will make it so. We can always hear his voice & his passion there and remember it like it was only yesterday & will go on forever. I love you all, Toody

Can't you read the signals in my eyes
And I'm standing on the platform
Waiting for the ones I've left behind"

R.I.P. FAST EDDIE CLARKE (5th October 1950 - 10th January 2018)

From Motörhead Official FB page:
Quote
We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight...Edward Allan Clarke - or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke - passed away peacefully yesterday. Ted Carroll (who formed Chiswick Records) made the sad announcement via his FB page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia...
