Sex Pistols have signed a new record deal ahead of releasing an expanded and repackaged version of 'Never Mind The Bollocks'.

The punk legends have inked a deal with Universal Music Catalogue UK to put out a 35th anniversary edition of their classic 1977 album. Other events and releases, currently under wraps, are being planned throughout the year.

I suspect no new stuff given Lydon's PiL focus...

Considering that there are several compilations available already that include every track from the album plus 'B' sides and demos I can't see what they could include on a re-release that we haven't heard before.

Unless they include one or two 'newly recorded' tracks to entice us as seems to be the norm these days. Perhaps the re-recorded versions of 'Anarchy in the U.K.' and 'Pretty Vacant' that the band did a couple of years back for that 'Guitar Heroes' computer game.

Unless there's something totally mind-blowing hidden in the archive I don't think I'll be buying it again.

I agree. The extra stuff will most probably be recent live recordings.

"I would like to very strongly distance myself from the recent stories and campaign to push God Save The Queen for the number 1 spot over the Jubilee weekend. It is certainly not my personal plan or aim. I am proud of what The Sex Pistols achieved and always will be but this campaign totally undermines what The Sex Pistols stood for. This is not my campaign. I am pleased that the The Sex Pistols recordings are being put out there for a new generation however I wish for no part in the circus that is being built up around it. I am currently very focused on Public Image Ltd."

If you've got the best part of £100 to spare...

...not sure how it's going to cover 4 cds worth but I guess there'll be old (maybe?) and new live stuff included...

So, as we thought, nothing that hasn't been available on official or bootleg recordings before but 'cleaned up' digitally.

How different can they possibly sound? Will anyone be able to descern any improvement?

Still not tempted.

The Belsen demo hasn't surfaced either officially or unofficially before (afaik)...maybe one or two of the other demos and some of the video?
It's a lot of money for a few tracks but unfortunately I know I'll cave in and buy it.

I hate to think how many times I've bought the tracks that make up NMTB!!

Steve Jones about more reunions:
Quote
Steve also hasn't ruled out a reunion tour, which would be the band's first since 2008.

He said: "I'm sure when someone needs a new motor or something, we'll get out on the road."

In 1978 Punk magazine sent photographer Roberta Bayley to Texas to chronicle the bandís tour through the South. Her photos of the two Texas shows capture the surreal collision of two radically different cultures.
