It's been a bad week for TV's honesty.

First, he admits to stealing lyrics, then Mickey Bradley suggests that he may be guilty of confectionery larceny. Now I must further state that when visiting our house he didn't rifle through my lyrics, but he did rifle through an underwear drawer. Shockingly, it wasn't my wife's, but mine!

How we laughed when TV explained that he had to camp at a festival the following week and he had, perfectly understandably, mistaken my pants for a tent!

“He really liked The Rejects and said I’ll get Tony Parsons, this young writer to come down and review you. Fantastic! Tony Parsons wasn’t known then. He was just starting to get a little bit of a reputation on this small scene. Julie Birchill was better known. Tony Parsons came down on our guest list and did a review. I went running out to get an NME and the band was waiting in rehearsals to see what the review was like. I get it and go back and read it out. ‘the singer sounds like a braying donkey run over by a truckload of Librium whilst behind him the band play artlessly away on their Les Paul imitations’ ... it went on and on, it was fucking hilarious, I was cracking up. I looked up and the drummer was sliding down the wall, devastated. I knew at this point this wasn’t the band for me. They just don’t fucking understand. They want to be Led Zeppelin or a version of whoever their favourite band was” Outside the Speakeasy that evening Bruno was smashed across the face with a whisky glass by his distraught guitarist Ian. Joe Strummer helped him patch up the cuts and bought him a scotch to console him. It was the last time he ever saw Ian”

He hasn't written one book yet, he's planning to (as far as I understood).  :-\

He must have sleepless nights because of it, as his profile shows:

Meeting publishing deadlines IS very stressful and you do get hung up on details. You can see how much time I waste on here when I should be writing.

TV Bloody Smith - what a bastard, I've never liked him, etc., etc...

No, an unpaid hobby, I just helped with researching, funding and getting the last idea into print and selling /wholesaling it, 46,000 copies of 'the little book of the toon' in 3 months start to finish, was the no1 best seller over xmas in Newcastle, mind up here its black and white daft.
This is the same story, I am just going to help research and get into print say 1000 copies of (working title) 'gob on the tyne' info anecdotes etc from NE punk scene, the books collator/author put together a list of NE punk bands as an insert for an lp we did: FDP (funeral dance party) R.I.P (rest in punk)on f**kin amateurs the book idea sprang from that list, its very long 76-80 but here's a few names from 76/77 he's going to work on first:

Amazing Space Frogs
Angelic Upstarts
Blitzkrieg Bop
The Carpettes
The Condemned / Penis
Crawling Chaos / Foetus Prods
Dementia Praecox / Steve The Goon
Dog Dirt
The Fashionable Impure
The Filth
Frenzy Batallion
Fucked Up Youth
Genocide Exit
The Big G / The Weights
The Lice
The MPs
Murder The Disturbed
Neon
Nicky Beat & The Beatniks
No Comment
Nod
Noisy Bricks
No Way
Wavis O’Shave / Foffo Spearjig
Penetration
Pig Sani
The Police (1st. 7” only / Cherry Vanilla’s backing band.)
The Proles
Punishment Of Luxury
The Rejects
Remnants Of Warsaw
Rhythm Methodists
Spare Pair
Speed
Squelch Vaginas (became?)
Stranded / Cliché / The Stretcher Bearers
The Tourists
Toy Dolls
Treatment Room
