Started reading it yesterday. Chewing my 'Emergency Sandwich' slowly. Tastes better that way  :)

Where as NOT A BAD DAY is about turning round a bad day so it closes on a high. Yesterday was the opposite.

I Make My Escape by reading TV's latest, and greatest tour diary.

When you read about some of the pickles TV get's into abroad, well to quote Julie Andrews "And now it don't feel so bad".

First thing I see when I open the book on a random page, is a pic with a familiar scene!  :o
It's the little tractor which transported the bands' stuff over a narrow bridge to the castle Helfenstein. TV played there with the Bored Teenagers, one of the best gigs I EVER witnessed...  :)

Must admit, Uli that it is much easier to connect with this book as oppose to the last one, because it mentions more places and in particular more people that I know.

Heck! Even the TUTS get a few mentions. :D

But what's this about the dog called Shady. :o :o :o

I've just finished the enlightening Lithuanian last chapter PANKS NOT DEAD.

Even though I usually prefer chapters were there are other people I've met and can relate to in them I must admit that it's probably the best chapter in the book.

Boy! Do TV's tour diaries help you to see how fortunate we are. LUCKY US.

The back end of 2008 was a really tough year as the UK fell into recession and in my case my earnings fell by 90%, but that's nothing compared to the way some people survive and TV isn't playing in some of the very poorest places on Earth.

LUCKY US.

I loved the ending in PANKS NOT DEAD about why TV did those few gigs. You get a real feeling for his mission in life. TV is a MESSENGER. A WORLD MESSENGER. He makes you want to "jump off the roof".

This all ties in nicely with his comment in WE WHO WAIT about his Destiny coming to find him. (With a guardian angel hand from Attila The Stockbroker in TV's career story).

If you haven't bought TALES OF THE EMERGENCY SANDWICH yet do yourself a favour RIGHT NOW.

Here's a litle TUTS quiz for you to add to the fun...

Which Forum posting member of The TUTS TV Smith fan club appears the most in TALES OF THE EMERGENCY SANDWICH?

Sounds good. I've just been through the first few chapters (2006), so it might take me a while until I reach Lithuania...
(I'm not the one to finish this in one weekend; also "officially" I'm reading another book.)

As usual, it's funny/sad/exciting/interesting... to read about all the events and non-events during TV's tours!  :)

I wrote a little review for amazon.de, also I might plug this on the Damned board, because there is a nice chapter about the UK tour with Dead Men Walking incl. Captain Sensible...

4 albums, 1 documentary and 1 book.

...And it's a cracker.

What a year!

What a star. :D
