Tim Cross R.I.P.
« on: July 10, 2012, 12:09:02 PM »
It's with great sadness that I have to inform you that Tim Cross has died. Just six weeks ago he let me know he'd just been diagnosed with lung cancer. Unfortunately the diagnosis came late and the cancer was already spreading but Tim remained positive and the prognosis was that he could live for another couple of years. I visited him a few times since then and he remained cheerful and his usual funny, smart self, despite being weak and in a certain amount of pain. He talked about his hopes of playing one last concert with me, for you TUTS at this year's Earthbound. Sadly that wasn't to be. His health took a sudden turn for the worst last week and he passed on in a hospice yesterday evening. I'm told by his brother that it was peaceful and he was in no pain. The world is a less colourful and less musical place without him in it. I miss him.

Such shocking news. Sad to hear this.
I'm sure his talents and contributions to (not only) TV's albums have been recognised by the TUTS.
He will be sadly missed.  :(

Very sad news. Really nice fun chap, and good with my (then younger) kids as I remember, as well being a great musician!

It also says something about loyalty and friendship when you have a creative partnership that has continued from the late 1970's - my condolesences.

I'm really sorry to hear this, he was clearly a very talented man, who will be sadly missed.
One small crumb of comfort is the fact that he will always be remembered every time we listen to his music.

Gutted.

Now Fleag and I know what the other special treat that TV had in store for us.
Let's make this years Earthbound a celebration of a real Diamond who sparkled so bright.

Tim Cross was a real fun and talented man to be around. Lisa, Shady and I often recall when he visited Clifford with TV and how much he enjoyed everything from the village itself to playing with Shady our dog.

His work with TV on March of The Giants made it the greatest album of all time.

It's fitting that the last words I heard from him were on the WE WHO WAIT documentary. TC's interview about TV and Gaye was particularly moving.

Another Fire In The Darkness burns forever bright.

Lots of love, peace and strength Teev.

Love Teej, Lisa & Shady
