a musical change is on the way.
« on: February 23, 2003, 12:10:57 PM »
good news it looks like the boy girl band bubble has burst.thank god,not a moment too soon.i feel there is a musical change on the way.in my experience music comes in circular cycles the climate is right now for some real music real insruments and real people.record companies are losing big time in sales and blame cd burning and piracy.CRAP! PEOPLE DONT GO TO THE CINEMA TO SEE A BAD FILM,YOU DONT SEE A FULL STADIUM IF  football team is facing relagation !!! young kids are buying the sex pistols nearley 30 years too late because there is nothing else out there for them.that nu punk is watered down 2nd hand rubbish,it even looks smart and clean.id like to think theres a generation out there right now trying to counteract this dreadfull mediocrity that is top of the flops that is ,the charts these days. i see no sign of it yet,i hope im proved wrong.most of these so called rebels are from middle class rich backgrounds,i got into music to be against the system, these prats these days get into music to be a part of it,HOW STUPID IS THAT.   ROCK AND ROLL IS RUINED,LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL.   markus, caterham, surrey,uk. dk.

Hi Markus,

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your posts.
Interesting and thoughtfully written.

Hear, hear music is more stagnated now than it has ever been, charts filled with dreadful rubbish,in the charts one week and purchased by mindless trendies, then in the bargain bins months later. If i was 16 now and that was all there was........When you consider there are decent musicians out there who can sing, write good songs and play live who never reach the masses, yet talentless drivel fills the charts.....these boy girl bands are like Dolly the sheep(bless her)clones or should that be clowns. Some of this rap (or should that be crap) is pathetic, mindless rubbish for the sportswear generation. full bloody agreement dave.you see the idiots at these record companys dont realise that in the long run they are losing money and putting people off buying their " here today gone tommorrow crap".that is why their sales are down yet theyre so blind they blame piracy and mp3 cd burning etc.   longetivity is the key as well as originality.the cream allways rises to the top see, they just dont get it.if they were in the biusness for the music(which they should be cos its aptly called the music biz) they could give bands a chance or two give us better quality goods that might be worth buying and still line their pockets, this is how stupid they are.emi keeps afloat because of its other activities (thorn e.m.i ) which sell weapons of torture to countries like india so ,they counter act their losses.you only get out of a buisness what you put in im afriaid these fools are so blind they just dont get it.maybe one day.   a good musician often ignored  can be found here   www.murderglobal.com

Try going to www.cdbaby.com an alternative site from the states they specialise in small run "alternative" music. You can sample tracks from most cd's.
