I've got to admit I just didn't see it coming.

Did you?

No.
Why did it not happen? Were rehearsals done at all?

TV didn't elaborate. Guess the timing was about right. Hard to see THE GREAT STRANGE playing second fiddle (orshould thst be guitar?).

My guess it was a bit like the proposed supergroup with Brian James.

I once named the biggest combined TV Smith / Richard Strange fan in the World by Joern of The AfterGlow on a German website and even I didn't know this. :O :O :O

As for the subject matter, it was an eye-opener when TV mentioned it but not earth(bound) shattering.

In times of trouble, you always turn to friends and family first, so Richard would be an obvious potential replacement.

Must admit though, it did make me do this  :o briefly!

About 10 years ago I was in the process of launching a combined TV Smith & Richard Strange website called Just Exploring Madness. So you can imagine that to find out this all those years later was pretty earth shattering.

I decided that Klaus and Hugh Gulland (www.doctorsofmadness.co.uk) were better at running websites than me (understatement of the year) so the project switched to being the TV Smith, Richard Strange & Stoner re-union gigs in Doncaster and Leeds in 2006.

I realised that I was a better gig promoter than I was a website designer. Ha!

As for the singing on stage at the two gigs with my favourite two British bands and singer-songwriters all I can tell you Slaughterboy was that I was more sober than I was at The Hope.

Sorry about that! :-[
