Accoustic Sessions Vol 1
« on: October 07, 2013, 11:03:30 AM »
I'm intrigued by the new studio acoustic album - something I've heard called for many times!

So how does it compare to the 'originals' and more to the point what's the track listing?!

I've ordered it.
Can't find any details of track listing but that's nice 'cause it'll be a surprise. :)

Yeah, I'm not gonna spoil your surprise!  :)
Only so much: for those of us who were at EB it is nice that there's some songs he played, e.g. The Newshound and Walk Away!
Other tracks are bit like a "best of" with a few surprises.  8)
Versions are as you are used to from the live gigs, some maybe a bit slower.

This is the kind of album I'd wished for since 1999, when I first saw TV live. (Ok, we got some "bootlegs" and official live albums since then, but back in 2000/1 I was really wishing for something like this...)

I love it! It's like Tim plays in our living room. Btw. producer is, Uli and Gabumon may be surpriced, good old Jon Caffery! ;D
With the setlist he made a good choice.  :-X

No, I'm not surprised about J. Caffery as the producer. Especially as I did read this on Friday already, on the poster TV put next to the CD at EB:

(Btw, J. Caffery may have done a bad job on some re-masters, he did a VERY good job on producing "Useless-The Very Best Of..." and on many DTH albums - just don't mention the loudness wars...)  :)

Great review!

To answer your question 1: that's because TV licensed his releases to various labels since then (Boss Tuneage, Drumming Monkey...)!  8)

Superb album. Would have said earlier but for the 'technical difficulties'.  ;D

Sound move by TV Smith.

The new Mike Peters.  ;D

Really enjoying this second play.

Not A Bad Day brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.

Like having TV Smith in my dining room. Like I have done many times.

Ooer missus!

Ask anyone who knows me who my favourite singer songwriter is and they will shout "TV Smith" before the question is finished.

This acoustic albums for the past, present and the future.

Love that it doesn't say 1 of 2.

Personally I'm looking forward to Volume 12 which will be packed full of rare classics.  :)

Been looking at the song per album stats. Not too surprising to see TV Smith Crossing The Red Sea like A March of The Giant he is.

"TV Smith - A Legend." Richard Strange.

Interesting how much I'm playing this acoustic gem.

At one point I thought I might just play it a couple of times like TV Live.

I can see Acoustic Volume 1 becoming one of TV's best selling albums.

The Lord's Prayer may have just slipped the net, but rest assured this new album is truly all Killers with no fillers.

Love it! 8)
