Some strange billing- surely The Misfits are bigger than Anti-Flag and the appalling Sick of it All? TV well down the order on friday and not listed as playing with the BTs. Sunday looks weak but 3 unmissable bands- Avengers, Creepshow and Off With Their Heads. I'm assuming that the Olympia won't be used again this year.

I think the billings tend to reflect 'rarity' rather than popularity - mind you Anti Flag are a big draw for me!

Don't like the way they've sorted it by stages rather than days- takes a while to go backwards and forwards.
Gang of 4 clash with Sham >:(
Talisman clash with The Rezillos >:(
Johnny Moped v Louise Distras >:(
Poison Idea and Off With Their Heads don't clash with anyone as they've pulled out.

Looking forward to seeing the Damned in the ballroom this year as opposed to the awful sound in the Olympia when they played in there two years ago, at least they are not using that venue again

Decided to do some research ahead of Rebellion and listen to some bands I'm not familiar with- Sick of it All- awful, dull tuneless hardcore. Poison Idea- some of their stuff is great Feel The Darkness, Latest Will & Testament and their new one Confuse & Conquer's pretty good too- but they've pulled out now!
Alan's enthusaiam for Anti-Flag, plus the fact that he (occasionally) knows what he's talking about persuaded me to listen to their stuff. Can't believe this band passed me by and aren't big in the uk. They've released a string of great albums- the singer's a bit weak at times and they sometimes get a bit too close to US College/Green Day punk but some of their songs are classics. Check out 'The Economy Is Suffering, Let It Die'

or 'no borders no nations'

Great stuff.

Ahem faint praise Gareth....

Looking forward to next week but unusually for me I have not mapped out the bands I want to see yet but I have noticed a few clashes...

There have been a few changes- TV's sunday slot (not the runaway tram one!) clashes with The Membranes and overlaps with The Creepshow >:(. Buzzcocks and Boomtown Rats have swapped places and an early finish in the ballroom means Chelsea (now moved to the Pavillion at 1am) will have a packed house as they are only up against MDC and Special Duties. Wayne Barrett has been added too.

Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow. The Misfits set should be interesting- Dez Cadena has left to be replaced on guitar by Jerry's son Jerry Jnr.

Phew just back - stunning weekend with three brilliant sets from TV, and he even squeezed in a new song during the solo slot; 'Keys To The World'....

Wonderful to see everyone again.... I will write something when I have recovered
