I agree with that Fred. I like both versions but Slaughter is tops. Here is my suggestion

Oh that's another nice pair!

Both The Cramps and Daughter and the Slogs were great at spotting a good cover opportunity:

Original (too wimpy for my taste):

Far, far superior version (and well spotted indeed!):

How many of us bought this cheapie back in the day? I know I did:

Yeh. I got it. But as far as I'm concerned only The Stranglers and The Dickies versions were better than the originals.
I seem to remember a CD version with a different title and more tracks.

I agree about The Stranglers, but I'd call a draw for The Dickies as I don't mind a bit of Moody Blues. I also really like The Subs version of The Zombies classic, but I don't think that any of these tracks, Stranglers excepted, are better than the originals, just different.

They always say don't do a cover unless you do it different or do it better - Devo win hands down for most different!

Enjoyable night in a good cause  :)

Nice one - glad you made it (I had tickets but was in plaster!).

That London E.P. was the first record I ever bought and gave away. I thought it was awful I'm afraid. I checked them out at Rebellion a while ago to see if they had improved. I didn't stay long...

I think that The Easybeats version is great and the one by The Golant Pistons is good too. There's another obscure version out there too:

Someone nicked my London E.P at a party. It wasn't brilliant but I really liked it.

Saw London at The Lexington a few years ago - dreadful!  ::)

A Bank Holiday question to ponder - which is best?

Far out, groovy 60's garage band psychedelic original:

Straight update by the big boys:
