The album has landed on my doormat! Well... on my computer! Pre-ordered via amazon.de and the download is available as of today!  8)
What I've heard so far is (again) different to what they did before. I think it's great that this project/band is so keen on experimenting with sounds and ready for adventures (like recording in the desert, this time).  :D

Well I told you it's "different", this reviewer seems to agree...

When asked to review the album, it came with the caveat of “something different”. Well, they certainly got that right and without any question whatsoever, Your Desert, My Mind is a positive oasis in the all too often barren lands of musical originality, zest and guile.

The journey into the desert has steered The Mutants off the highway and into yet another drastically different musical direction, this is a more of a heavy bluesy affair, with heavy traces of mescaline and the American alternative scene in it’s DNA, these elements sit happily alongside the influences and style that the core trio of The Mutants bring to the album. From the opening chords that kick off this journey in fine style, this is largely a dark intoxicated trip into the Mojave desert, my personal favourites are the title track and superb Machismo Postura, but for me Your Desert My Mind isn’t an album that’s about individual tracks, it’s best appreciated as a complete work. This is an album that takes you on a dark and mind expanding trip through the desert, and believe me you want to be along for the ride.

This pic from T. Campbell (found via FB) suggests there will be a physical release (on cd at least):

Nah. Not for me.

Too Gothic and lacking the energy of the original album.

I've heard nothing "gothic" on it so far...
Do yourself a favour and listen to the whole album, to me it stands up well with the other two (different as it is)!

The reviewer (mentioned above) got it spot on:

Oh that track sounded, and obviously looked, what I'd call Gothy. I dare say I'll hear the rest at some stage.

First album is best though - look at the line-up!

Gotta say that "vampire" video hasn't convinced me (and is a bit misleading perhaps).
I prefer the "album trailer" with the views of the desert & the studio!  8)

Once again the band have come up with a completely different sounding album to its predecessor and should be praised for resisting the temptation of retreading old ground. I can only guess where they will go next, but whatever musical genre they chose to select, its bound to be interesting.

I do agree!  8)

Btw, am I the only one who noticed that the intro to track 6 sounds exactly the same as on track 1?  ???

Video of Mutants rehearsal not long ago (they did a few shows in U.S.):

Will see what comes next from them. I think it's been an exciting journey so far, 3 very different albums within just a few years...  8)

Just to let you know that I've just returned from New York where I was recording another Mutants album which should hopefully see the light of day in a couple of months, there are still a few overdubs and keyboard parts etc but when it's all done I shall post and plug...
