Ray Davies Interview
« on: June 06, 2011, 07:41:59 PM »
Good to hear Ray Davies name-checking John Otway, Jophn Cooper Clarke, the Thugs etc in his Front Row interview tonight on Radio 4. Worth catching on Listen Again where it will be up for a week....

"Ray Davies tells John Wilson how he recently discovered long-lost early recordings of The Kinks in his attic, and discusses the acts he's programmed in this year's Meltdown Festival at the Southbank Centre, London."

Talking of JCC & The Fall.  ok we wern't technically.

But, both JCC & The fall get a mention in the Shaun The Sheep movie...  They come to the Big City and there is a poster on the wall behind them in one shot.

By the way and excellent film baa none (sorry!).  If you go, they stay right to the end.. ie passed all the credits!!

Ray Davies announces first solo album in 10 years

Thanks, must check this out. Like I said, we should appreciate the talents who are still here with us!  :)

Edit: not so sure about the "spoken word" content...

He did something similar with his X-ray shows based on his autobiography and that worked well.

His last album, "Working Man's Café", was very good.
